Just a ? ... is this bearing wear normal? (56K beware)

Took out my rods and pistons and when we took the bearing cap bridge off we noticed that 2 of the bearings had different wear than the center one... is this wear normal? or should I be concerned about the integrity of the crank? Thanks... just wondering if I now have to get a crank too... http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emhammer.gif

Here is links to larger and cleaner pics... Hopefully this will Help with a diagnosis... I also included a pic of the crank. I have more pics if anyone thinks its needed... but these should do for a diagnosis of wether the crank is still good... I think it looks ok, but I dunno how its supposed to look...

Looks like the bearings and crank are scored. My roomate just went through this on his GSR, and had to replace the crank.

You have a few scores from some passing debris but the wear looks fine....

crank looks ok. have it micro polished. bearings have some abnormal wear. just replace them with honda bearings

Mobil 1 10w30

I think the crank is ok, I will have Vap0rtrail look at it when he comes back from Gainsville... Then if it's ok, I'll be shipping it to Endyn for some handywork... http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emthup.gif http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emwink.gif

Bearings look fine you will get this kind of wear one part of your bearing looks unused. They look really good how many miles do you have on these bearings. Also you can tell if you need to replace the crank or get if micropolished if you plastigage the crank, the plastigage will be big on one side and little on the other. This will tell you that your crank wear was uneven and that is when you ship it off. but those lines in your bearing look fine. If the bearings were shiny on the whole bearing then I would worry.

15K miles on those bearings with many WOT runs down I-4 (around 100miles)...

My girl lives a hundres miles away and at 2am, the quicker I got home the better... http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emwink.gif

Well, let's hope John thinks the same... http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emthup.gif

Hopefully Endyn's knife edge balancing and micropolishing will take care of everything for me... http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/embeer.gif http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emthup.gif http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emlove.gif
