Default JunVillaruz's PTE6766 T4 2.1liter GSR new project build

Long story short I've left the sohc game and sold the coupe then used some of that fund towards the new project. I will surely miss the single cams as it is super easy to work on, but It's just wasn't going to work with what I'm trying to do, so it's time to move on and learn the ways to DOHC and be more competitive with reliable power. I kind of miss having something to update so with that said, i am back to honda-tech to share this new journey. Was wondering where you've been! Looks like a hell of a project, and a super clean hatch at that. With your successes on the single slam, I can't wait to see how this one turns out. Definitely in for updates!!

Good luck with the build, looks like you're off to a decent start.

Why not a bigger cam & more aggressive intake setup? GSC, Kelford, Pro1s?

Hey bud, I'm still around just slowly gathering car parts over the winter, but I'm almost there. I'm not trying to go to crazy as it can get a little expensive and trying to keep this somewhat simple yet streetable. I'll be happy with a 700whp street car but the turbo and longblock should be able hold a bit more.

Thanks Boss, We've had issues with Pro1's exhaust lobe getting wiped out, so if anything I'll probably do GS1, but i know that neither gsr or itr cams will do just fine and could make the same power as the other cams with a few more psi. As far as intake skunk2 ultra race would be ideal just a little out of the budget, but perhaps I'll get one in the future.

I hear ya on gathering the parts! You're going to dual cam, i've just broke into VTEC lol. Your Z6 build was ultimately my inspiration for the switch. While I'm not on that path just yet, I am toying with my first single slam vtec build now. If you happen to get that S2 ultra, i'd love to hear some feedback. I'm pissed at them right now over an issue with their alpha lite rods, but I made them work. So it may be a while before I order anything from them again lol!
700hp street car sounds insane. Especially in that hatch. It won't run the quarter mile, it'll ******* teleport!!

Jun. That's great you video documented all of this.

My buddy and I did a similar block off plate with some Apex'i gauges (they use Defi internals)

Thank you and my buddy was the one doing the welding so I'm not actually sure which cup he uses.

Yeah it should be a fun street drag car. I'll have it set-up to where i can flip a switch from wastegate for streets and full boost at the track.

I've also picked up a tenzo discontinued seat and fabricated the bracket to fit the chassis, then added a tab for the oem buckle to utilize oem seat belts.

The next plan is to get a simple mig welder so i could start with my own little fabrication for whatever i need in the future.

That seat was a hell of a find, especially in such good condition. Go to harbor freight for a wire feed flux core welder. I bought a 110v that's excellent for up to 3/16 and fair for 1/4, for 179.xx. I've welded everything from BBQ pits to exhaust pipes for over 2 years now and it's holding strong!

Great to know! I was actually thinking about getting one from harbor freight. Thanks for the tip!

Thanks i will be updating the vlogs soon.

Anyway, here's some of the updates from Melvin regarding the cylinder head. He has started working on the the ports, bowls, chambers and will be doing a simple 4 angle valve job for this set-up.

Rough cut...

This picture makes me want to run a bigger skunk2 Pro1 cams, but we shall see what happens as i would hate to see the ITR cams sitting;

I will be using a STD supertech inconel valves with black nitrated intake, 85lbs supertech springs/titanium retainers, blox lma and golden eagle cam-gears super simple and most commonly used valve train set-up. This head is the last thing that's missing for this build so I'm excited to finally get a move on with this project, and I might be heading to Ohio in about a week or two to pick up the head and degree the motor.

Will update again later
