JRSC on an LS ? Good deal, what do you guys think.
Hey all.
Some of you may know that Jackson Racing is clearing out their SC kit for the LS's for $2000 right now, which is a pretty good deal, and while you may be able to make better numbers with a Turbo setup, you're looking at a good $2000 more on top of that just to make it right, with fuel management.
I was thinking of hopping on the JRSC kit for my 94 LS now, and getting Hondata system around summertime. I'd like to put down roughly 175whp, with a USABLE powerband thats a little lower than what a turbo can offer. I have a catback now, and while its a 2.25 I believe (Magnaflow), i probably wouldnt upgrade that anytime soon. How much would I look at to get Hondata 200b + tuning done on the car in a few months? I'm not really looking at a engine swap, mine runs like new, and is very clean and still has great pressure numbers and leakdown results.
My goal is something that is more fun for enthusiast driving, not a track queen.

Then I would go for it, most people on here would go turbo(thats including my self) but I think it would be fun to have a sc integra. Tuning depends on the tuner and I am sure you would not have nearley as much tuning time of you just wanted "basic tune" which it seems you only want.

Sounds like it is perfect for what you want
But just to let you know, I made my turbo kit 300whp no problem for under $1700 including fuel management, gauges, new manifold and downpipe, rebuilt turbo and the whole shibam

if your only looking for 175whp that would be a good setup. you do realize stock ITR makes roughly 165whp. 175whp isn't that much and boost is addicting.

Stock ITR swap - $5000+ for 165hp
JRSC LS kit - $2000 for 160hp
i'm sure with that extra $3000 i could do something amazing... anybody else happen to know what it would cost for Hondata + install and tune time, roughly.

So... $3500~ total investment, which includes a more reliable setup than turbo, and will put down the power sooner... and that includes an excellent fuel management setup. ???

def not 1000 for hondata with boost...
around 400-450 for hondata with boost
300 or so for a chipped ecu
300-500 for tuning
