JRSC GSR ECU Tune help
Yo...so I've never delved into tuning and ECUs, hoping to get some clarification from the experts after reading through this....
http://www.phearable.net/tech/efibeginnerguide.html
I have a 2000 Acura Integra GSR.
Recently purchased a JRSC off Craiglist.
My goal is to run my car completely stock other than the JRSC and when it’s time to get it smogged, to quickly revert the ECU back to stock.
OPTION 1
1. Purchase another stock OBDII ecu (P72 OBD – 2) to use to swap in when it’s time to get a smog check.
2. With the current OBD - 2, I need to chip it then get an OBD2b to OBD1 jumper harness.
3. Get a Hondata
4. Take it to a tuner
OPTION 1
1. Purchase an OBD – 1 ecu
2. Purchase an OBD – 1 wiring harness
3. Get Hondata
4. Take it to a tuner
Is that correct?
Lastly, what's the most economical approach I should take based on my goal?
Thanks

Re: JRSC GSR ECU Tune help
you are close but a little off.
you cannot chip an obd2 ecu. so to tune your 2000 gsr you need to get an obd1 ecu and an obd2->obd1 conversion harness. you dont need to change the whole wiring harness. keep your stock ecu and injectors so you can swap back when needed.
