JRSC D16Z6 w/hondata nitrous 251whp on MD
I tuned 2 months ago at Payn Technologies in Troy, MI. on his Mustang Dyno. Baseline car puts down 160whp/131tq, the biggest drawback on the baseline is intake temps during WOT with the JRSC at 10psi. Last time we played with the nitrous a .022 jet (approx 20 shot) upped it to 183hp/178. Basically tuned it as a street car using poor mans intercooler to chill intake temps.
Went back over the weekend for a little bigger #'s, kinda cool but still not satisfied for a few reasons but it'll do for now.
This was on a .045 jet put down 240whp/220tq. Check out where the nitrous sprays at 4,000 and shuts off at 6,900 controlled by Hondata. My injectors hit around 80% duty cylcle on this shot.
This was with a .052 (about a 90 shot?) that helped put down 251whp/227tq. Injector duty was around 90% so we had to stop (upgrade soon). I want to see how much we can spray on pump gas with the Hondata Nitrous controls, I think I can get close to 300whp.
Setup:
D16Z6
JRSC @10psi
Crower rods
Arias Pistons 9:1
Alluminum flywheel
RPS 4 puck clutch
440 RC injectors
Hondata S200B
Hondata Nitrous controls
1 cam, 1 supercharger, 1 bottle of nitrous....
1 fun street car

not a big fan of nitrous but nice numbers on the sohc nonetheless. considering you have internals upgraded already, i'd like to see what you can do with the same setup but replace the jrsc with a turbo. damn i gotta get my sohc dyno'd soon. good luck

The baseline #'s are probably kinda low b/c of parsatic draw and high heat at WOT on a M45.

I think it would make more baseline at 8-9 psi off the bottle due to heat soak, intake temps. etc. I need to get the Hondata IM gasket to help lower temps. Just now getting to the point where intake temps hold steady w/ the nitrous shot sprayed at WOT. Can't wait to spray more and hopefully see intake temps drop. With the .052 jet I'm making around around 90whp extra, tuned conservative, I know it's safe, I'll pump it up and spray the crap out of it till somethin pukes.

The .052 jetting is a 125 shot with my Zex kit. I just received the jettings from Zex. What kit are you using?

I'm using an NOS solenoid #16020 and a high flow valve NOS bottle. According to NOS jettings on a dry system a .052 jet is approx 95hp shot w/ the way my fuel is set up. All cars are different, all tunes are different, all dynos are different. I have a killer a/f ratio on the wideband and can't wait to get to the track.

Thanks man, I've still got a few tricks left before I move on to the next setup.

I'm not a fan of nitrous, but I do understand how it really helps on JRSC setups due to the cooling affect. I have to give you mad props on some very impressive numbers out of a SOHC setup! Very nice!

are you running a wet or dry setup? can you drop me a line and chat with me about your setup with the NOS since I'll also be doing this quite soon when I get my header fixed and my WB in there. thanks.

Thanks for the compliments peeps. I'm serious about taking it to the next level, looking for 300whp out of this setup, if the charger or bottom end lets go, so be it. What injectors do you think will get me there, 550's or 770's? Wanna do this on pump gas.... What do you think?

do you have those pictures that you were supposed to send me for your setup? I'm not certain where I should be running the dry shot of n2o into in order for the EMS to control it. thanks!

Just recently went to the track, spraying the .045 jet for now. I'll throw the other .052 jet and chip in when after I get a little more seat time. Best pass of the night was a 13.42@106mph, 1.98 60 ft. 22x8x15 MT's. Spray Hit's at 37 mph, basically when I get into 2nd gear. Hopefully I can get into the 12's w/ this setup, full interior/stereo etc....
