Icon6 JRSC D16y8 9 PSI Boost upgrade?? SOHC!!!!

Hey Yawls

Ive been trying to find a 9 psi pulley upgrade and have no luck with Moss Motors c/o Jackson Racing. He said they didn't even make one for my kit. I have a 99 D16y8 kit BTW.
Someone please verify this guy knows what he's talking about!!

They say only thing I could do is use a JRSC nose pulley from the old eg civics but its four ribbed, and would have to change the crank pulley to a D16z6 which is also four ribbed and the right offset as oposed to the stock 4 ribbed y7, & y8 crank pulley. Going four ribbed seems better to reduce belt slipage even though I would have to bang out the sidewall.

Anyone out there done this upgrade on the D16y8? If so please tell me about it.
I need some sources of parts to use and or suppliers for pulley upgrade.

Thanks,
BudgetRacer

Try to look into old EF sohc crank pulley I don't know which one. I know they are bigger then stock and you can run more boost. But it's only a two belt pulley.

Interesting I'd like to learn more about that. I do not have AC so I dont need more than one belt if thats what you mean. I just need the crank pulley to have the correct offset to the supercharger pulley and raise boost not more than 9 psi.

Thanks for input!!

Any other takers on the subject????

Not correct I have a D16a6 and have to run a Y7/Y8 crank pulley to get 9-10 psi. Its the biggest crank d series pulley I know of. You can just get a smaller snout pulley.

You can get a JRSC "Blue" pulley. That one will supply 10psi.

What is the "Blue Pulley"?? Will Moss Motors know it by that? Do you have a part #??

10 psi may too much for stock internals. I dunno.

10psi has nothing to do with reliability. Its CFM and the m45 is small enough that 10 psi through it shouldnt be bad at all. In fact I have been running at 10 psi on stock internals for years.

ok believe it or not but that pulley does exist. Not sure what engine it's off but it pre 91. It's a 2 belt pulley with bunch of holes around it. It's defently bigger then normal ones.
