Default Jrsc belt sizes researched and revised!!!

After doing some research, I noticed that the ever so famous belt size guide by Holden is slightly off. I noticed it after seeing that on his guide the stock ac belt was listed as 31 inches but when you go to an autoparts store and give your car information, the actual belt size is 33.2 inches or 845mm. I checked this on four different websites and has been confirmed.
In his guide it states that the stock belt for the crank to alt is 33 inches when in reality it is 31 inches. I also verified this on four websites.

The power steering information is correct though.

Btw, the sites were autozone, pepboys, dayco.com, and goodyearbeltsandhose.com.

Also, a little more research led me to the car that uses the 34.5-35 inch belt that is needed on some of these applications. Go to an autoparts store and ask for the power steering belt for a 95 eagle talon ESI. It is 35.0 inches or 890mm. Belt sizes will differ from each other depending on the brand, so adjust accordingly. Dayco's tend to run a bit smaller gatorbacks are pretty much on point so you may have to get a belt that is smaller and get the next lower or higher one. If you can, try to compare the original belt that is on the car so you can see how the new belt will compare against that one.

Enjoy the show folks!

Stock Belt Sizes
AC = 33.2" = 845mm
PS = 36.5" = 930mm
Alt. = 31" = 785mm

6psi JRSC Belt Sizes
AC = 33.2" = 845mm
PS = 36.5" = 930mm
Alt. = 31.5" = 800mm
Blower = 24.5" = 620mm

9psi Stepper
AC = 33.2" = 845mm
PS = 36.5" = 930mm
Alt. = 31.5" = 800mm
Blower = 640mm

10psi JRSC with CRV Pulley Belt Sizes
AC = 34.7" = 880mm
PS = 35.5" = 900mm
Alt= 33.5" = 850mm
Blower = 24.5" = 620mm

8psi JRSC with Blower Pulley Belt Sizes
AC = 33.2" = 845mm
PS = 36.5" = 930mm
Alt= 31.5" = 800mm
Blower = 23.4"-24" = 595mm-610mm

For the CRV pulley set up you can get a belt that is 33.2-33.5 or 845mm-850mm for the alternator to crank.

For the CRV pulley set up you can get a belt that is 34.5-35 or the 880-890mm for the ac compressor to the crank. I find it is best to use the ac belt from a 94-01 acura integra ls which is a 34.7 inch or 880mm belt.

From my experiences with Autozone they always hand me a belt that is much longer than what I've asked for. I've even seen them cross reference a belt number for me, and their computer will spit out a belt that is longer than what I'm asking for because it is the closest size that they carry without being smaller.

For instance:

When I switched to a CRV crank pulley for my JRSC GSR...I asked them to cross-reference the 4pk850 belt (4 rib..850mm). Their computer spit out a Gatorback belt of 900mm. I didn't want all that slack to cause belt slippage so I asked for the next smaller size, which turned out to be the 845mm. I figured if it fit, I'd rather have a belt that was 5mm smaller than what I was asking for, as opposed to 50mm bigger.

The 845mm Gatorback belt worked great on my previous 8psi JR-Crank set-up but had more slack than I cared for; But that same size belt also worked on my 10psi CRV pulley set-up. Tight fit, but it still worked great.

So to sum it up....you and Holden are probably both right because of the amount of tensioning/ adjustments you can make.

The only thing that even made me write this was the fact that a 1 inch difference is not that big a deal. But thats 2 whole inches. If you had a 31 inch belt which is 785 millimeters, but bought the 33 inch belt which is 845 millimeter you would have a great amount of slack. It might just have been a typo on holden's behalf when he wrote down ac and alt.

Lol, I remember once I was talking to my friend about crank to alternator, alternator to blower, blah blah blah, and after a while I couldn't even get the word "compressor" out, we are human and that's why others are there to correct us. So we can keep the right info out there.

I'm impressed that you investigated something that Holden probably wrote down 3 years ago that people have been using as info. And you might be correct that he may have a typo.

But also check this out:

Blower = 24.5" = 620mm
</TD></TR></TABLE>

On your CRV pulley specs you listed the crank belt as 900mm. I'm personally using a 845mm belt on my JRSC B18c1 equipped with a CRV-crank pulley. So I could also say you've listed a belt which is 2 inches longer than the one that currently works perfectly for me.

See what I'm getting at? You both could be off by some margin and still be correct. lol

oops, big time typo!!! Please remove that part of your post that says the crv pulley to alternator crank is 900mm. I definitely know that specific belt is 850mm. I will remove this post afterwards.
