Default JRSC B16A2 F***** up....

Hello peeps,

I've just finished installing my JRSC on my B16A2 and i have got the following issues:

- Rattling noise from the throttle body side of the charger (probably a bearing, but i have to check)
- When we went for the tune, we saw that the charger boosts 7.3PSI at 5500rpm and after 5500rpm the boost drops, 1 psi every 500rpm.

The setup is as followed:

- Stock B16a2
- Jackson superchargerkit M62
- B16B cams and springs
- 550CC injectors
- 255 Walbro

Anybody familiar with this sort of issue?
We have checked for vacuum leaks but couldn't find anything.

Greets

boost...have a good look at the bypass valve and make sure it shuts tight and actualy seals when closed
what pulleys have you got to work out the total boost you should see?

rattling.. sounds like rotor bearings ..best to remove the charger and check if the rotors are loose and move side to side
also check the snout bearings for end play and side ways movement

what can it be? bearings worn out?

I've seen a couple of thick and deep scratches on the rotors.

Does anybody know if the rotor assembly from another M62 blower will fit one on one in this housing?
I have found multiple eaton M62 blowers, but the housings seem to be different.

The rotor plate bearings rarely go bad. It's usually the coupler bearings or the rotor end bearings (the bearings stuck in the case near the inlet). Check some vids from youtube, there's lots of info on the same supercharger from GM owners. Play like you recorded is normal, which is why they have dual roller bearings on the other end. There has to be some room for thermal expansion.

The rotors will swap no problem, but most are for clockwise rotation while the JRSC is counter-clockwise. You'd have to swap the rotor gears between sides, or drill & press in dowels in the other gear.

Hey guys,

I have placed 2 new rear needle bearings and this is how it sounds now:

Unfortunately it hasn't improved much. The rattle seems to be somewhat less louder, but it is still there.
According to an enginge-specialist i have spoken here, the rattle can also come because of the rotor having scratches and therefore causing play of the rotors when spinning and building pressure.

anybody got any ideas?

Greetings,

Bhieshen

did you check the oil in the snout or change it
if you do change it use the correct supercharger oil

Yeah, before the assembly i put 110ml of GM supercharger oil in the snout.

Is it possible that because of the scratches on the rotor, it rattles?

or any slack in the snout coupling

Everything is solid as a rock. No play in bearing, the pulley doesn't give when trying to move up and down. Not even the slightest of play in it. The coupler is brand new and also there is no movement when trying to push it up or down.
