jrsc 98 civic ex not making power
we just got my friends car done and tossed it on the dyno.... it made all of 111hp and 105tq. the belt was slipping and it would only boost 3-4psi, but damn his old stock y8 engine made more power.
the setup we are running now is a y7 block w/a y8 head, 450cc injectors w/vafc hack. afr is flat from idle to redline around 12.5:1
we dont have much experience w/any jrsc stuff... anybody got any ideas

Try a compression test. Is this on a base JRSC kit too? That's too bad his numbers are so low. How many miles on this motor?

What were the temperatures @ the dyno?
Belt slippage is no joke...the car falls flat on its face without proper tension. Is he running stock header/cat/exhaust?

Re: jrsc 98 civic ex not making power (newgsrdriver)
we havent done a compression test yet..
the engine didnt have too many miles on it. came out of a 99lx i believe...
he has a cheap *** header w/a gutted cat and apexi N1 exhaust, and a hondata IM gasket.
it wasnt too hot at the dyno. i had a alcohol/water mix we spray intercoolers with to keep them from getting hot, i sprayed the charger a couple times but it didnt seem to make much difference. we can log the boost on the dyna pack and it was coming up to around 3-4psi like it should, but when we compare to the old dyno charts its 2psi too low everywhere.....
on the busted Y8 motor it made 125tq and 130hp.... that engine killed a rod bering and trashed itself. so we replaced it w/the y7 block... didnt change anything else.

Well, Im sure his exhaust setup is hurting him for one.
In terms of the really low numbers, wouldnt it be about average, factoring in the lost power from the 2-3PSI? I think you need to address those belt issues before hitting the dyno.

we put it on the dyno cause he dosnt have anything to measure the afr's and we get cheap dyno time so its no big deal. but i mean, the car was making over 120 w/the stock y8 engine and boltons... we slap a charger on there and only make 110... wtf..
whats the average power of a 98ex w/6psi and the jrsc?
