JRSC and the "powerband"
ive heard that the JRSC starts to lose power around the 7500RPM mark? anyone know if this is true?
reason im asking is that i just raised my redline to 9000RPM, but i guess there isnt much sence in pushing it that far if its just loseing power anyways

Re: JRSC and the "powerband" (siis2fast)
It's probably more about intake temps giving the impression of lose of power, rather then anything else. Otherwise, it would start showing up on the boost gauge...

I used to spin mine that high, felt like it made power. What size engine? when I dynoed last weekend (d16z6) noticed that I started to hit valve float around 7,500(factory springs).

Re: JRSC and the "powerband" (GITWIDIT)
The JRSC is a positive displacement supercharger which does not rely so much on revs as does a centrigugal supercharger or turbo where more revs equates to more boost. The way JR explained this to me was that the engine's inherent top end volumetric efficiency (I'm talking VTEC here) will eventually start to meet the capability of the JRSC...the SC just gets it there more quickly. In my opinion, as the torque curve is so flat from a JRSC there really is little to gain by changing gears so high up and it only puts undesirable strain on your components. This strain is not linear either, huge amount more at 9,000 vs. 8,000. Just my $0.02.
