Default Jet-Hot Manifold, Turbine housing, downpipe and dump tube...

Searched and couldn't find much, but anyone Jet Hot Coated the Manifold, DP and turbine housing with the 1300 degree "Sterling" coating?

I saw the thread with the tubular manifold with this coating, and I'm wondering if the 1300 degree coating is high enough considering we run exhaust temps upwards of 1500+ degrees.

I'd rather get the Sterling color, but if I need the 2000+degree coating, I'll go flat black.

Any info?

they suggest to get the flat black...but its ugly and grainy looking. id still get sterline . i sent them some parts to coat once, they only coated half and returned the rest in a baggy all jumbled up. when i inquired about it they were initially real helpful for a day..after that i havent heard from them. im using hpc coatings from now on

SIRKID,
I had all my stuff coated by Jet-Hot using their 2000 degree black coating. This is what they will tell you to get because of the turbo heat that is produced. HEre is a picture:

Now, the stuff will NEVER rust. For the money it cost, I am not sure I would do it again if I needed too. The stuff looks great but like someone else said, it is a flat black color and somewhat grainy.

If you have any othe questions, let me know by either PM or email.

might be a dumb question but what are the advantages of jet-hot coating or any other coating?

Well I had the mani and Turbine housing coated for 2 reason. The 1st is because it traps heat in which Turbo's tend to love and 2nd looks....

I use polydyn coating on most of my engine and turbo parts and love there stuff. If your gonna get your mani or turbine housing coated make sure to get the black as the gold will fade quicker.-pdang

You should ask turbodandee for a pic of his mani as he has the polydyn coating which has lasted quite awhile.

I got my turbo about 3 weeks ago, and it's been in the original bag from Precision, and when I took it out today to put the fittings in it for the oil feed, I noticed some light surface rust forming already.

Since the Inline Pro manifold is stainless, I think I'm going to try my hand at polishing it somewhat, and just send the turbine housing for the black treatment to JetHot.

On a side note, I see that the Full Race manifold/turbo is Sterling colored... I wonder if that' s Jet Hot coating, and if it's shown any signs of problems from heat...
