Default JDM-auto B16a cams in B18, better???

I herd that if you get a pair of JDM spec b16a cams from an automatic, drop em' in a b18 (or other apps.) that the higher lift on both primary and secondary lobes but most importantly have a shorter overlap, which will allow your engine to hold boost pressure longer for more power. Is this true??? How much of a "difference" will there actually be in hp numbers? Is it worth buying?
