I've got an oil leak

I installed my turbo kit earlier this week and since then I've had an oil leak. http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emsad.gif Earlier today I washed off my oil pan really good and took my car for a ride around the block. It seems as if the oil is leaking out between the gasket and/or the actual bolts that hold the oil pan to the block. Anyone experienced this? I torqued everything down to about 9pounds.

I expericened it, torque down to sepcs also I went out to get a new gasket too,
When i took the old gasket off and looked on the block in detail there where alot of spots which looked like factory silcone deposits. I scrapped them off and replaced the gasket but i probably didnt need a new one.

If you didnt clean it off like i didnt the first time this is probably your problem, try taking it off and scrapping the residue from the block and your pan.

I dont know if this is your problem but its somewhere to start.

I would say either you have not put your gasket on correctly(in the groves) or you have a old dry gasket that now has tiny cracks in it from leaving it open to air while you were installing the turbo kit.

Where do you have your oil sending line tapped? Into the oil sending unit? If so, you need to check in that area.

The oil sending isnt leaking. I did buy a new gasket. I cleaned off the pan but didn't clean the block where the gasket goes. If I took it off again would I need a new gasket? It's only been on there a week.

i had the same problem... replace the gasket... degrease the oil pan and clean it up. make sure the bolts are nice and tight.

not too tight, I broke one off the last time I took it off and put it back on.http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emhammer.gif

Dang, that must have sucked =P...I had a small leak a day after my install but i just needed to tighten up 2 nuts, just make sure everything is clean and use the gasket sealent, i used the blue permatex one.

I had a slight leak in the back of the oil pan so i dropped it again and put some copper gasket sealer on the oil pan gasket and put it back together and i havn't seen any leaks since.

I used RTV silicone gasket maker with a new rubber gasket, and it's holding good.
