ITR vs Skunk2 Stage1 cams for boost.
Somewhere down the road, I want to put together a turbo setup for my b18c1. At this point though, I can't really afford to jump into the project yet, but I would like some more power. I figure the best thing to do then is to get some cams and an IM, since they will give some decent power gains in addition to my i/h/e, and I can use them with my turbo setup as well down the road.
The cams I am thinking of getting are some 00/01 ITR cams, and a Skunk2 IM. But I'm also thinking Skunk2 S1 cams... on the exhaust side, they have 14 degrees more duration than the ITR cams. Would that be too much duration for a boosted motor? Should I just stick with the ITR's? I'm thinking that if I can find the S2 S1's cheap enough, then I would like the nicer top-end power of the S2's.
What do you guys think?

Re: (ssr_h22)
So I hear. But then again, the Skunk2 is not that far off from ITR cams in terms of specs, but it looks like they produce noticeably better gains in NA form. Would that mean better turbo gains as well? I don't think they would be considered "aggressive" cams at all.

skunk2 in more na. just like there intake manifolds. i would stick to honda/acura. this is wat alaniz told me. i would want something mild. i am going for a 500whp build. fully built bottom end and all headwork.

I would be willing to bet that if you got some SK 1 cams that you wouldnnot lose any power over ITR cams if you compared both on a med turbo setup

Re: (SOUNDEFFECTS)
Thats what I am thinking as well. And while not turboed, they would still make more power NA than ITR/CTR cams, which is whats appealing to me.

I say go itr because nobody has any feedback on the skunk cams and boost. Hell maybe you should try it and show us your reseults. itr cams would be the safer route but maybe the skunk cams will produce good results.

I have no data but I have a strong feelin tht a s2 stage 1 will hit very hard and pull very high once overlap is fixed. but I dont know if it will wear teh springs out faster.

Re: (Boostage)
HHHMM... very good point. Boost might really exaggerate the stage 1's aggressiveness, and while a stock valvetrain would be OK with NA, I might need to upgrade for boost.
