itr trans and b18b1... good combination? what size turbo?
i did a search and didn't find anything on this.
would an itr trans be too short for a boosted ls motor w/ stock internals? i think this depends on how much boost i plan to run right? i want to run 12psi and hopefully reach 250hp this summer on a stock non-built motor. then next year i want to build the motor and put on a bigger turbo, and hopefully reach 400hp. since i have to shift an ls motor at 7k, will i drop out of boost with the itr trans and the smaller turbo. what about the bigger turbo?
also, what size turbo do you thing i should get for this setup. both this summer and next summer?
thanks

Ill tell you right now that tranny is too short for a stock LS. on a 23" tire, GSR tranny, and 275whp I was crossing through the traps @ 8000 rpm's in 4th gear(no rev limit). Thats no good or I was having to shift to 5th. ITR gears would put u more towards 8500 w/ that kind of power. People will tell u just to get valvesprings/retainers and rev it up but I don't care what they say LS cams/head won't make power much past 6500 so its poinless. If you r not cracking open the LS motor don't go w/ shorter gears then a GSR. Basic rule of thumb is the higher u rev it, the shorter the gear u wanna run.

summed it up pretty good. The ITR gearing is way too short with the stock LS redline.

ok so i should stick with a gsr trans, but what size turbo would be the most efficient on a stock ls motor w/ hondata for tuning. im hoping to reach at least 250 this summer then next year build the motor and reach 400 - 450. keep in mind that i will want to use the same mani (from tinker) for both setups.

i am running a b16a trans out of a del sol, same gearing as an itr, and i love every minute of it. i also have a stock ls turbo

Stay with GSR. When/after you build just step up and buy some slicks in the 24.5" variety and you should still be going through the traps in 4th but at a higher rpm. Trust me on this.
Manifold shouldnt matter too much. Tinker makes some nice stuff, but go with his equall length one.....whatever its called, i forget.
Turbo. You would want a large t3t4, or maybe the popular SC61 Precision turbo----I like mines 230 hp on 4psi untuned

Um, sorry yes it is the same as the 97-98 itr transmission, minus the lsd
