Internals?

Yea I've covered this topic not too long ago but I had some questions about crank/rod compatibility..

motor's an '01 b18b1 that i will be having built for turbo..probably gonna resleeve and go with an 84.5mm bore with arias 9.0:1(or lower) pistons and eagle rods.

here's my question, will the eagle rods with with any aftermarket crank, and do you think that i should get a 2.0 crank rather than a 1.8model.. I'm shooting for 500whp with a LOTTA tuning and a LOTTA work for something that's daily driven..just not too far.

if youre gonna bore to 84mm then go with a stroker crank. i would sleeve it 84mm or 83.5mm rather than 84.5mm cuz it doesnt leave you much room to work with if you something goes wrong. i mean you dont even really need a crank imo unless your 500hp is gonna be low boost. i would just micropolish your stock crank and balance it, i wouldnt knife edge it but some people do

well, if i don't go with a different crank then..

does anyone know of any inherent problems the gsr crank can throw at the motor ..or is it pretty solid?

the stock gsr crank can handle waaay more than your going to be throwing at it. i would not go above 84mm bore for the same reasons said above.

do you have the ls crank from the engine? with an 84mm bore is pretty close to 2.0

the 2.0l crank is the same as your b18b crank
89mm
Unless you want to use a 95mm crank with i wouldnt recommend using.
do a 83x89 or 84x89 set up

No, I have no LS crank. It's a bare block I got pretty cheap and want to have re-sleeved and setup with an LS-Vtec conversion. Guess I'll stick to 84mm on the sleeving and either a gsr/ls crank. Whichever pokes it's head up at me first.
