Interesting Idea But Is It A Good Idea?
I had this interesting idea for my turbo piping, manifold and fmic casing and fins but I don't want to do it if it's going to cause negative effects on the set up. What I would like to do is powder coat all of the stuff listed above mirror black to get rid of the bling factor. But would this produce more heat or something else bad?
I'd love to know.

Powder coating you piping wouldnt cause any problems, but i'm not really sure about the intercooler. I painted mine and havent seen any ill effect, but then again powder coating is completely different. I think I heard someone say that powder coat will peel right off of your manifold fairly quickly from the heat, but I would ask around because thats just word of mouth.

I didn't read about any ill effects of painting the intercooler. As long as you don't layer it on you should be good. Maybe I'll just paint the fmic flat black and powder coat the rest. Is it also possible to powder coat the turbo itself?

No, anything that gets hot, like the turbine or manifold need to be ceramic coated. Powder coating won't hold up to the heat.
