Interesting Find! LS Build Weisco/Nippon
I am building my first Honda/Acura. Doing a simple rebuild and turbo. I went with the Nippon 81.5mm Pistons from Ebay. While Assembling the pistons/rings into the engine I couldnt locate my compressor. So I used a cheapo Autozone tool.
Well I ended up breaking a ring. So me being the impatient one that I am didnt wait on a response from the Ebay store on getting a replacement set of rings. I went ahead and ordered a set of Weisco Rings from Summit and had them next day. Interesting find, when they came in they were exactly the same as the Nippon Rings.
The packaging and ring markings are identical. Only difference is Weisco added some labels to the box and cost me double the price... May not be news to anyone, but I havent seen tons of info on these Pistons while searching.

I believe those are the NPR "racing" rings. Would need to find a supplier for them specifically, as I believe they are different than the NPR rings in the yellow box.

Ya most of the rings are NPR rings. OEM rings are different, but for the most part, most of the aftermarket rings that come with pistons are the same. Arias is the same way. Even the rings have the "N" stamped on the top rings lol.

You can tell when you gap the rings too. The NPR rings are some sort of composite material, and OEM rings are metallic I'm pretty sure.

when I refresh my engine the last time, I used NPR rings on my SRP's. A fellow Honda tuner here in P.R. give me the hint.
