I am interested also, not from a purchase point of view, but rather just because I am curious about this. They look very similar to the brand of slimline fans many of us here in ND have used on our imports (Imperial brand, available from Checker Auto). Yet the imperial brand fans are a whopping 39 to 59 dollars each, depending on size, when purchased @ cost.

They're from Summit Racing ( www.summitracing.com. Yeah I know they're pricey, but the fitment and quality are second to none. Plus Flex-a-Lite is a respected name.

How do those Imperials work out for your guys? Have they been reliable? How slim are they, and how do they mount up?

Out of the group of us that run the fans not a single one of us has had a failure in two years. They have been extremely reliable. Thickness wise they have a couple of models, but most of us use the fans that are about 1-1.5" thick at the center. They mount up w/ a ziptie basically that you put through the core of the radiator/ac condensor. Definately no complaints over here, and w/ the price I would definately recommend them.

they are great fans that should give you extra room but ironically, i couldn't run them with my setup and i had to go back and modify the hell out of the stock fans.

the black webbing on the FAL midsection caused clearance problems and crushed the a/c line against the turbo. if i didn't use a/c, i would have been all over these dual fans but in retrospect, i should have gotten some cheapy kragen's single fans and used those.

Dude, please don't tell me you have a MaxRev setup because my turbo doesn't fit right now. I was just thinking this A/C line is right about against the gaurds for the fans.

All that money on these fans...I'm gonna be sick

yup, i used the maxrev mani, dp and turbo. i did not have to shave much from the block though, nowhere the amount that you had to notch off. however, with the FAL's on, there was absolutely no way i could have put the turbo on because of the fan guard + a/c line.

have you tried to mount the turbo with the stock fans? yeah it pissed me off too that i bought the FAL's and couldn't use them

btw, i found a pic of my old setup. sorry for the big pic but you can see that i didn't notch off the block that much and also the fitment of the turbo with the stock fans.

Does your compressor sit or rub on the A/C line at all? Maybe I could cut the gaurds on the FAL and push the A/C line in a little more hoping it doesn't hit the fan blades. I'm gonna have to figure something out real soon.

I got mine from Kyle's Groupbuy so the manifold should be pretty recent. When did you get yours?

Note to self...get some imperials next time. Or should I cut up the FALs (even though the point of them was not to do any cutting). Maybe I'll even go with a pusher setup...indecision is a costly thing.

Anyone got pics of what the imperials look like, maybe even a model/product number?

I got my kit around the same time hmm...

Well look for some slightly scratched by NEVER even used fans in the Best Buys forum soon

( I bet I'll change my mind in like 7 minutes )

I'm going to check what PepBoys and AutoZone has to offer when I get home. Did you have to reverse the blades and polarity to get them to be pushers or did they originally come that way?

after i took out the FAL's and put the stockers back on, the compressor was rubbing on the a/c line still so i stuck some thermal padding in between. when i took the turbo off and checked the padding after a couple of months, it was burned to a crisp and the a/c line had a good dent in it.

i thought about cutting the FAL's but yeah, the whole point in getting them was to not cut anything so i just sold them and ran stockers
