Intake temps after turbo and intercooler....what you guys getting?

Trying to feel how well my setup is working as this is my first FI experience. I have a Cyberdyne Air Temperature guage with the sender right before the throttle body.

Right now in the summer on the highway I usually run about 15-20* above ambient (outside). So if its about 90* outside I see around 115* or so. All temps in Fahrenheit.

One time when it was about 40* outisde and very light mist in the air I managed to be about 5* above ambient, but any more rain and it usually goes above normal.

What are you guys running around at?

As far as accuracy of the guage, when I first start the car it is right at what the outside temperature is, and when I turn my car off, the heatsoak makes the temps rise to like 150*. Eventually I would like to mount one in the intake manifold, but this works for now.

Here my FMIC

i dont know how manyt people have actual air temp gauges...but most just datalog with their standalones......im sure you will get some logs. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

my temps are about the same as yours. I had 50 degree temps one time in the winter here in Texas...not too bad

So I guess its working as should be...

Anyone know what NA motors with CAI run then? Are they pretty close to ambient? I saw a post in the archives where a guy with a JRSC reported 200*+ on a 90* day.....ouch!

man i wish i got those low temp...if it's 90* out here my intake temps would be 135-150...the intercooler kit helps..i've got it to take temps down almost 30*....well the reall driven is at night when it's cooler out.....

NA: I'm usually anywhere from 10 to 25 degrees Fahrenheit above ambient with a cold air intake when the car's moving (depending on the speed). At the track, after sitting in the lanes for so long, the IAT will be closer to 135 to 140 deg F. By the end of the run, it'll be 120 to 125.

All temps were taken from IAT sensor in the intake manifold using the Hondalogger.

My filter's hidden behind the turn signal, but I've god datalogs of somebody with a C-west JDM ITR front-end (no lower turn signal) with an AEM CAI running within 5 deg's of ambient while on the highway.

I hate where Honda placed our IAT sensor, right in the intake manifold.. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emthdown.gif Freaken thing heat soaks so much at low rpm the temps can reach 150 degrees on a 90 degree day and when air is really flowing after about 5-10 min criuse on the freeway then temp readings is more realistic 10-20 degrees above outside air temp. Honda should of located the IAT sensor near the TB or intake piping far from the block where most of the extreme heat is. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Probably a worst case scenario thing.

we usually see around 10-20 deg above ambient with our air/airFMIC setups.

geoffs civic setup back in the day with the 60-1 around 14-16 psi with a 20*8*3 core. used stock IAT sensor.

my old setup (se-r) with a t3/t67 around 15-17 psi with a 22*11*3 core. used autronic IAT sensor placed on the bottom of the IM.

B18b, 9.5:1, STR intake manifold (used stock iat), InlinePro Cast Stainless T4 manifold, T04E turbo, 10PSI, FMIC Dimensions - 23" wide (31" with endtanks), 11.75" tall, 3" thick, Endtanks diameter - 3"

In boost iat's get as low as 92 deg. in boost, at night. During the day they are around 110-115 deg.
