Which intake manifold .. 400+hp turbo GSR
I am debating on either a Edelbrock Performer X or Victor X and am open to any other suggestions.
This is all I lack before I can get my car tuned
I am leaning more towards the performer because of the 4-7.5k rpm mid range power. My car is a built block with a all stock gsr head that sees at most 8600 rpms. I do have later plans of CTR cams with double valve springs. I dont really understand the 7k-10k powerband of the victor x.
60-1 Garrett turbo, JE 9:1, Eagle H beams, ARP head studs, 3" exhaust, 2.5" ic piping, 500hp ic, tial wg, open dump, 1kcc precisions. ect,..
I'm wanting 400-450 on 93 oct @ 14-18psi
Please help,
DK
I can order which ever monday or tuesday. I am also wanting a big throttle body from blox, can I go too big?

Re: Which intake manifold .. 400+hp turbo GSR (Boosted_B_Series)
i'd go with s2 they've beed doing it forever but if you heart is set on edlebrock than def. the performer since you what mid range the victor is only good for high end power

I just wonder if there power band ratings were for na or boosted cars... the high powerband of the victor x just seems like its for a dyno queen.
I used to want the skunk2 and could get it for a whole lot cheaper but I read some post a while back that it really wasnt the best for boost.
I dont daily drive this car but I do drive it on the street and have yet to take it to the track. I do think Im gunna drive it tom to work tho.
Thanks for your alls input.

If you have plans on upgrading the valvetrain then I would go with the victor x. What are your plans with the car? I am more of a top end kind of guy.
Where does that turbo hit full boost with the top mount?

Re: (DelSolMarine)
my setup:
stock head
type r intake cam and gsr exhaust
valve springs and retainers
Victor X with stock LS throttle body
1000cc injectors
83mm Sleeved type r block with LS internals
9.8:1 CP and Eagle rods
Full race ramhorn and a t3/t4 60trim .63ar
I made 416hp/278tq @15psi on 91oct
The Victor X gave me that top end hence the good numbers. Just depends on what you want out of it. I like me some top-end powa

i'd go with the AEBS mani as well. for only 400whp i wouldnt even look at the victor X.
performer x is what i had my friend get for his 400whp ls build.

Ended up getting a decent deal on a performer x for 230 shipped..
I figured when I rip my engine back apart down the road I might up grade to a victor x when I do head work if more power is needed up top.
Now I need a throttle body and intake mani gasket and maybe a throttle cable.
Wonder how big I can bore out the opening.. 68-74mm tb's seem to be priced the same and I'm kinda wondering why I wouldn't go as big as possible
Thanks everyone for your input and time

Re: (B16A1-EF9)
full-race or AIR carbon is going to give you the best performance and highest #'s... unless you get out your calipers, micrometer, welder, and calc/physics gameface on and redesign something better!

Re: (manekDC2.)
I think that getting a TB thats the same size as ur piping might do the most justice.
Maybe someone with some good info can confirm, but if u go too big na it losses power, but i wouldnt think that applies for boost.Make sure before u buy.

I really can't afford any of the real expensive ones.. Maybe eventually, but not right now. I really couldn't pass up $230 shipped on the performer x
I'm looking at 68mm throttle bodies because it equals out to about 2.6" and my IC piping is 2.5"
I was thinking of eventually remaking my cold side piping in 3" so I was really wanting to go with a little bit larger throttle body so I wouldn't have to replace it later on down the road. I am just un sure if I can bore out the performer x that large or if upgrading the cold side to a bigger dia would be worth while or cost effective.
Thank you everyone for your replies and feedback
