Installed sat. RC550's with clips and chipped p28 ecu with basemap. Car wont start
Alright I installed my RC's and the clips to my car. (00 si) Put in the conversion harness and the ECU. First time I tried to turn the car on it turned on, but then bogged out and died. Pulled the plugs and they were wet, So i dried them and let them sit, still wouldn't start. Went and got some NGK plugs, gapped them to .030 and tried them, still no dice. So I need your help on what I should try next. The car won't even turn over, it's all starter and no "boggleing" noise trying to start. Any suggestions or help

what fuel management are you running? Did the person who made the basemap account for 550 injectors and use a fuel multiplier?

this is what he is trying to achieve, but the tuner is a good 3 and a half hours away. so he needs his car to run. I pulled the plugs to find cyl 1 and 3 wet and 2 and 4 just a little. He has busch platnum 2 plugs in there with can not be good at all. he is going to pick up some ngk bkr's and see what happens. I do not know if he go tin contact with the person who chipped and burned the basemap yet. I just dont get it, the car wont turn over, but it did the first time after the install of the new parts. I am just trying to help a local out. thanks for everyones imput and help.

Alright The plugs are bkr7e's, should those plugs work? They are getting spark for sure and they are getting fuel, just not igniating. Is it the plugs fault or just too much fuel with the 550's

I burnt the chip for him. I converted a 450 map to a 550 map. I think that was the problem. I will take care of it for him. This is the first basemap I have ever had problems with.

I have had this happen before. But not all the time. I did a basemap from 550s to 450s once in a Z6 and the car wouldn't start. It was a fully tuned map on 550s, but the injectors went bad... but that probably had something to do with the injectors being crap.

Re: (coptzer)
Are you sure that you have saturated injectors and not peak and hold? The part number on the injectors should be something like SL9-550. If the part number starts with P, you have the wrong ones.
Also, make sure that you unplug the purge valve, it may not be the problem now, but it will cause cranking problems later. On any obd-II car running an obd-I ecu, you have to unplug the purge valve.

Re: (SlowB16si)
Ok, well now that we are sure that you have the correct injectors.
How did you do the connections on the injector clips? Did you solder or use butt splices, b/c if you used butt splices, that is probably your problem. You absolutely must solder those things. Also, are you absolutely sure that you don't have some of the clips swapped around and on the wrong injectors? With the longer lengths of wire, its hard to tell which ones go to which injector sometimes.

Re: (tthame1)
I have them spliced right now, I did one at a time so they are all connected with the right wires. I am going to solder them later on today or tomorrow though.
Also I checked and all the injectors are fireing

Re: (SlowB16si)
Yeah, I would definately do that. A lot of times the butt splices will add resistance and cause problems. Hopefully that is what's causing yours.
Did you ever get your map reburned?
