Installed my RC 440's!
 

Well after a long search through some 7 different autoparts stores, I finally found all 4 GM Injectors Connectos and I was able to install my RC 440cc injectors in my Civic. First of all, if you have a Discount Auto Parts in your area... stick to them!! I paid $12.97 for 1 connector at Pep Boys, $16 damn dollars at Napa for another! And alas the final two were found at Discount.. for how much you ask? $2.44 each!!! Too bad they only had 2 in the 5 different Discounts I went to.

Anyways, took me about 2 hrs to complete the injector swap. One interesting thing, the RC's don't fit quite the same as your stock do I learned. In the rail they seemed to sit a little looser than that stock injectors, and I had a real hard time getting them to fit in the intake manifold. The shop manual tells you to install the seal rings first, then the injectors, but I had to install the rings on the injectors first and squeeze the injectors in the manifold like so, but finally got them in. Did all the soldering, started her up. Stumbled at first, but it was running. Leaned back the V-AFC -50% for idle and it smoothed right out http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emsmile.gif

Anyways, I guess this is a confirmation for anybody who was pondering going this route. It does work, takes alot of tuning but it defintalty works. Right now I'm running rich at idle still, and I'm working out the bugs of running it under Hi throttle and Low throttle, but it'll come with time. I can see why dbman likes his MAP sensor mod to the V-AFC though cause the car can run really choppy at times because of the added fuel at the wrong times. what kind injectors are on your civic, peak and hold or saturated?

Just to clarify for myself, you basically have the 440cc injectors maxxed out at the stock fuel pressure levels right?

Yea fuel pressure is pretty much stock. Walbro pump, stock FPR, no more FMU, so fuel pressures are about stock w/ the RC 440's trimmed down via the V-AFC.

Sorry I guess i wasnt quite clear. When at peak boost the 440s are basically maxxed out with that setup at stock fuel pressures, right?

they probably are, depending on where he boosts... When I went to the dyno we had my 440s up to a 90% duty cycle near redline, and that was with approx 55-60psi of fuel pressure at that level (aem fpr)

That was pretty much why i asked. I knew you were really close on your setup, and figured that with the larger turbo and motor he, and myself, would be as well.
