Default Installed catch can- consuming 1/2 qt every hour

I installed a catch can the same style as the moroso can at the highest point in my engine bay above the intake manifold by the brake lines.

I ran 2 lines down to the 14mm allen heads on the back of the block, from which I removed and installed the washers and nipples. My catch can is filling up with oil after 45 mins of driving, and is spilling out of the vent filter when I do highway pulls.

Its a freshly built engine, runs great. Has about 3.5 bar oil pressure at 4k. 6 bar oil pressure when cold. .5 bar oil pressure at idle when warm.

Anythings to check for as to why I am losing so much oil from this catch can?

I have the Z10 plug, and a cheap filter on the valve cover inlet.

i dont know if this will help at all but try a return line. does it have baffeling inside at each inlet and the top near the filter? weird...excessive blow-by? boosted or n/a?

its turbo gsr, recently built/sleeved.

It has no baffles on the catchcan, and the inlets are near the top of the can

i have seen this issue. most of issue i believe comes from running a return in the original charcoal spot (if the motor is of the right year). hmm, i'll think about this one...try putting baffeling inside. also, do you know what the ring gaps used? hmm...

i have the z10 catchcan setup but its the same thing

my can fills up pretty quick but it will drain back into the block once it reach to a certain level. since the fitting sits below the filter. the oil should just go back down into the lines you running into it

Just like komat says, u need a drain back, so it the oil drains back into the block, but need a fitting at the bottom of the can and a hose coming from it and T'd off on one of the lines.

Wat u can do is, dril a hole on the bottom of it underneith and tap it and put a fitting on it and run the 3rd hose to one of the lines from the block, just T it off to it, make sure the can is high enough so it can drain back, it works on gravity so if its not high enough it will just sit there and spill.
