install turbo kit (DRAG, Rev Hard...etc.) WITHOUT OTHER MODS: good results?
Hey guys, I tried searching, but I couldn't find anything useful. It seems that most of you have done other mods (to the engine/fuel system/ignition/computer..etc) in addition to adding the turbo/intercooler setup. What I want to know is if there are any of you out there who have installed a turbo kit on your car, straight out of the box, and what the results were like. Also, note any problems (if you had any). In particular, I'm looking for people with 3G non-VTEC integras.

I'll tell you right now that if that vehicle has a stock clutch and high mileage or age then the clutch will start slipping weeks after turbo kit install (never mind that, a stock clutch period: eventually starts slipping) but if everything else on the car is kept up to date like oil changes, coolant flushes, valve adjustments then the motor itself should be able to handle "Street boost" no problem for a period of time depending on the condtion of the car and how its been kept, Basically if it doesn't pour out blue to light blue smoke all the time and white smoke (or steam/mist) on hot days then your straight.

Well straight ouf of the box the drag will have to be open downpipe...you could see it as an advantage or disadvantage hehe. Otherwise most kits are made to run fine right out of hte box. A high flow cat and larger exhaust will always help.
