inputs on the GT2876r turbo
A friend is offering me this turbo $1100 bnew. i read its good for up to 350hp applications. it has a .82a/r t25 turbine housing and .70a/r t04S comp. housing. it looks like a gt28rs on steroids. with the 4" inlet is this any good for a street set up capable of 300whp??

Yeah it can hit 321 y0..
I am wondering if the original poster is talking about a gt2871r or is this a new turbo? Either way its not cheap.

rmcdaniels made 380whp with the gt28rs. 8.5:1 B16 pushing 20psi and dropin to 18 at redline. So i guess the 320hp kit yehiknowrite and I got is underated.

Im in a similar position with this turbo, right now similar goals to about 300 hp, but with stock Ls. But if i was to build this winter would it be more efficient just to purchase the Gt30 range instead?
Sorry to thread jack but was curious.

That's pretty much what I've observed, I had no problems making 408 with a GT3071R, and could have made more if I had wanted to. It didn't spool as fast as my GT28RS, but it was smoother and easier to control. For a street car I still like the GT28RS though, it spools at a very low RPM, responds extremely quickly to throttle input, makes 350+ at the wheels, and is the most fun turbo I've used by far.
