Injector size for Turbo ITR motor?
Yep, I searched, but nothing helps me out for me to be positive. I have a Stock compression (CP pistons w/ h-beams ) in an '01 R motor<-- incase when i go back to stock . Im gunna get a lower compression headgasket -> the compression should be around 9.8:1 or so. I have a set of 440 RC's w/ 255 intank pump on stock fuel pressure but im not sure if the injectors are going to be too small. The turbo is a t3/t4 .60 on the cold side.... Im running a fat Spearco IC and AEM EMS and want to boost at only 7 lbs (for now)..... What size injectors? Will the 440's be OK? Much appreciated

u can pick up saturated 580CC's from camp1320 for 280$ or for the sme price some peak and hold 650's thatll satisfy your need for fuel in the future as well as now.

Anymore inputs? The 440's wont be maxed of duty cycle at 7 psi right? ANy guesses at what the duty cycle would be at say 7 psi or more?

psi doesnt have much to do with it , it depends on power output . and put it this way on my stock ITR motor i was making 295whp with out a prob on 8psi. it had more in it, but we only had like 45 min or so on the dyno . i would go bigger. rather have too much and tune down and know you can grow thne not enuff and run into probs. i had to spend double the money to switch from 550's then to my 880's. i shoulda got the 880's 1st

I did the same thing. I had 450c inj. Then upgraded to 680c inj.

You can get 880cc for not much more than the 550s so why not go larger for future proofing? You'll most likely to be upping the boost anyway once you've had a taste As you'll be running AEM EMS to control them you should be OK.

Re: Injector size for Turbo ITR motor? (swlabhot)
Dammit, does anyone want a set of practically brand new RC440's? LOL... Maybe ill hit up camp for some fuel...
Its harder to tune bigger injectors at idle isnt it? Thats why I was gunna go with the 440's because I'm tuning my own with the EMS before i can get to a dyno to tune out overlap and cams and fine tune tables...

Real big injectors is harder. I am talking 800cc and up. YOu can compensate by turning the fuel pressure up though (50-55).
550's are what you need or those 580's that are on sale at camp1320.

Re: Injector size for Turbo ITR motor? (itr206)
Hmm, well in that case... I'll keep the 440's at 1/2 bar boost and wait for a deal on some RC550's.... by that time, i should be craving more boost...

You just had to do it....I posted this yesterday, read this article it gives you formulas to claculate fuel pump, injectors, and so on for the fueling needs of your target hp level.....Wouldnt you feel better taking the time and doing calculations and figuring things out on your own, than just asking and getting 100 differnet responses??

Its not experience its mathmatical calcualtions....Its how the people who told you who told them who told them figured it out...cut out the middle man and see for yourself, it works.....crazy concept i kno
