Injector Dynamics 1000cc injectors at 100psi!
Hey guys, just finished up a Supra project. I know most people are having a hard time swallowing the high pressure capability of the new Injector Dynamics injectors so I thought i'd put this up.
This setup was built around maximizing the power capability of these 1000cc injectors. We used dual Bosch 044 pumps in the tank with pickup adaptors from Kinsler fuel injection (thanks Scott!). The Bosch pumps are great at high pressures, up to 140-150psi. We ran dual feed lines up to the HKS rail, with the return coming from the center (pretty normal in the Supra world). We also used a high pressure Weldon fuel regulator (thanks again Scott! lol).
This is a 100% stock short block with 101k on it. The head has been freshened up and new springs and retainers installed, but no port work. The turbo is a Bullseye Power S374R and the manifold is an HKS divided. The car runs a Motec M600 ecu.
These runs were on VP Q16, which is oxygenated and generally requires about 5% more fuel volume than C16. As you can see by the logs, there is quite a bit of duty cycle left to go. At these pressures, the recovery time on these injectors is very short and the maximum safe duty cycle is 95% at 9k rpms. Keep in mind Supras are not as efficient as Hondas. I'm confident this same setup on a Honda will make over 800whp while maintaining factory driveability and idle quality.
I have some video at the shop that I need to put together and upload, the pics will have to do for now.

I moved the scaling on the sides, you'll see one side goes to 1100 and the other goes to 1500. This made is easier for me to see what I wanted to see during tuning and I forgot to change it back before I printed it.

900+whp, wow! I guess supra guys are still using the rule of thumb of "get the biggest turbo that fits between the motor and shock tower" lol, very nice!!

Thats SICK!!! All that on with a stock short block 100k mile supra with the ID 1000cc injector and still a good bit of duty cycle left (none the less on a fuel that I would think eats it up).
Is there any limit to what you guys can do...

so these 1000's, and a base of 100 psi, a reg that can handle it, can make over 800. nice.
do you think pushing a weldon db2015a to 145 is safe? at that power level?

Tony, what FPR's do you think are suitable when running these high pressures? Alot of people have issues with the AEM's but I have never had one and this is my 2nd one, but I think mine will junk out at 100psi base. I am about to sell my RC's and go this route I just want to have everything correct the first time.
Aeromotive?
Fuel Lab?
Magna?

The Weldon 2015A is rated by Weldon up to 160psi. They always rate their pumps on the safe side. They will usually do at least 20-30% higher than their rating for short duration.

Weldon or Kinsler on the fuel regulator. They both have units designed for this pressure.

The aeromotive pro series regulator can handle 100 psi base fuel pressure. By accident I ran our CRX at 90-100 fuel pressure once with dual bosch 044's in parallel and it held fine. The car was breaking up down the entire track, but that is another story.

Tony and to Scott @ Kinsler
Buy stuff from these guys for world domination
And that kind of power on a 101k stock block...we are all in the wrong cars haha
