info for anyone with a BB turbo with "built-in" restrictor
just because a shop says your brand new ridiculously expensive ball bearing turbo has a restrictor, doesn't that there is actually one there. make sure you actually look at the oil inlet on the top of the turbo. if the hole is much larger than mechanical pencil lead, then odds are pretty good there is no restrictor in place. this was the case for my situation. i saved my $1,000 from puking oil (and possibly needing a rebuild within the next hundred miles) with a $5 inline restrictor
there may be exceptions to this rule, but in my case, i had no restriction whatsoever. perhaps someone else could chime in and add some more info on turbos with built-in restrictors, but make sure you always check this yourself. do not rely soley on the word of your vendor. even if they swear they have had the exact same turbo on their car for months with no problems.

I spoke to the Garrett guys at a race this year and they informed me the GT35R, GT40R and GT42R do not have a built in restrictor in it at all, it looks like it BUT it does not. I had been told by a Garrett dirstibutor that they did in fact have built in retrictors BUT Garrett corrected that. Good luck
