i'm new to F/I some questions
i was an allmotor guy and now i decided to try the F/I. heres is what i have now. i have an jdm b16 in an eg. ive been doing some research and diffrent turbo kits and the t3/t4 seems like the way to go. this is my daily driver. the block is stock and i want to keep that way for a little while until i plan on increasing boost. so how much psi can i run daily on the b16. i'm thinking i will be fine at 7psi daily driven and mabe run 9psi if i go to the track. how long have u guys had ur setups so far? i'm new to this so i want to get as much info as i can. i know there will be problems with the car not running good and i know u have to spend money when something goes wrong. by the way i have an intake 2.5" exhaust i know i don't need the intake anymore. thanks

just do a search and cruise the board for awhile. that will help you gain the most information. how much psi you run on a stock bottom end all relies on tuning. for insurance just buy a thicker head gasket like a cometic to lower your compression

Re: i'm new to F/I some questions (drvfast)
What kind of turbo?
For that motor I would suggest T3/T04E .54 or .57 compressor, .63 a/r turbine.
.54 would be a little faster spool, but the .57 will give you a much bigger kick in the ***.
For some reason when I hear "JDM" B16, it makes me think JDM means higher compression. If thats the case, I would lower with pistons, down to 9:1 to be safe, or if cash is short, get a inline pro headgasket to lower the comp ratio.
How much boost depends on how well your fuel management is tuned. Get Hondata, RC 440's and walbro intank 255lph pump. 440's would suit your needs just fine. Dont screw with the inline+FMU setups that come with the turbo kits. They are ***. I might suggest a VAFC hack, but I have never gone this shortcut so I coudlnt tell you. Just get a real stand alone, dyno time and your happy.

as far as stand alone FMU's.... what is there besides the Motec, Hondata, and the AEM...and the price of each? I know the AEM is like 1400 not the cheapest 'mod' out there.

Stick with Hondata. Its the simplest to use and excellent for tuning, not to mention the excellent price. AEM I hear is a bitch to tune.
