Default I'm Having A F*cked Up Day, How Has Yours Been?

My day started off pretty f*cking sweet. I recieved my block back from GE and all my build up parts are in as well. So I'm all juiced and ready to take all these parts to the shop and start my build up. I get to the shop rip the box open and take my block out and thats when my heart just dropped. I was looking my block over and I noticed that my block was craked. Acually it has a big chip in the area where the driver side upper mount bracket connects to the block, basically making it impossible to mount my block. So my dad takes a look at my block and says that it can be saved, but that area of my block has to be arc welded and the holes have to be re-drilled and tapped. So after that I get on the phone and call the company up that I went through to have my block sleeved and they tell me the fault lies on GE, and for me to give them a call. So I immediatly call GE and tell them what happen, and Vince tells me that the fault does not lie on him(GE), but it lies on the company that I went through to have my block sleeved. So at this point I'm like what the f*ck, someone better take fault for this sh*t because I did not send my block off with cracks and a chunck missing off it. So i call the company I delt with back and this time around they assure me that the fault does indeed lie with GE and they will call Ted(GE) and have it settled on Monday. So in the mean time I have to send my block off to me fixed, which is going to cost me money that I do not have. Now I'm just stuck and really in a foul mood. So how is everone else's day been?

P.S.
Before anyone says anything about "you should have opened the box as soon as you recieved it," let it be known that when my block came I was off in school and today was the first day I have been at home. My mother signed for the block without knowing what was contained in the package(Although I doubt it would of made a difference even if she did).

It was shipped through UPS, but when I looked in the box it was clean. Just filled with backing bubbles and two partical wood boards. The piece that is missing from my block was not in the box, so I'm not really sure if it was UPS.

25$ says the fault is the shipper. UPS managed to RUIN my port and polished head when it was shipped back to me. you better hope it was insured...

Yes insurance is the key... although it will only be insured for the amount the shipper paid for...

My block was insured for $1200, but the process is going to take 6 weeks at a minimum from UPS. I do not have that kind of time to wait for a check. Then I would have to turn around and wait another 6 weeks to have it sleeved again.

i'm not sure how they do it everywhere else, but at the UPS here, anything insured for "that much" is inspected before the box is mailed out throught them. so regardless if the piece is missing or not, it's on them. so regardless at least you can "expect" the money back, in the very least from UPS

he already said that it wasn't UPS's fault considoring the box was clean and the **** wasn't in there.

the fault lies in GE or the shop he went through. Not UPS.
