If you were in my shoes...
I currently have a bone-stock(-InjenCAI) 94 GSR with 112,000 miles.. Compression tested 225, 220, 230, 225 last time I did the test couple weeks ago.
From compression alone I know my motor is probably healthy of handling a tuned 7 PSI with a Drag/Revhard kit - but given those miles, would you rebuild first, then turbo? Or enjoy the turbo until the motor goes (if ever), then rebuild?
So many things you can do with Tegs, sucks!! I been thinking about rebuilding to Type R spec, JDM Type R pistons, valvetrain, skunk2 cams, etc for a decent all-motor setup but when my builder gave me a quote on the labor I started re-thinking everything because it was a lot of money to rebuild an engine that didn't have to be for an extra 15 hp (if that from the pistons)
So now I'm back on possibly putting together a custom turbo kit and rebuilding my motor AFTER.. for more instant gratification..
Basically, I'm asking you guys that might have been in my shoes at one point between an all-motor rebuild for high compression or a turbo on a stock motor what you did, and if you were happy with your choice? With everything taken into account, reliability, speed (no brainer), etc

All-motor will never compete with turbocharged. In your case it depends on how long you want the motor to last. I believe with those compression numbers you can last at least a while.

Well, it shows the motor is "healthy" TUNING is what will make sure the motor lasts.. and not overboosting a stock motor, but.. ANYTHING can happen, I suppose..
I owned an LS and bought a turbo kit for it, Drag III.. I was so obsessed with making sure everything was going to be 100% that I NEVER ended up putting it on, I wanted to have Hondata, a 3 inch exhaust, bigger injectors, a bigger in-tank fuel pump, etc before I even put it on.. and after spending $2900 for the brand new turbo kit I was looking at another grand or two to make sure it was right.. I couldn't hang so I sold the kit, and bought a GSR..
GSR is a much better platform for all-motor than an LS, but I've been in a boosted car and nothing compares to it.. I just still don't know if I'm ready for one and now I'm contemplating putting it on a more expensive motor..
/sigh!!
choices.. choices..

Your right choices. there hard to make. Your engine seems healthy. go for it. Nothing is better and you know it, especially when a turbo charged car pulls next to you for a run. But most of all tunning.

Unfortunately, compression numbers have nothing to do with how long it will last...
It would be worth your time to pull the oil pan and check all the rod bearings and main bearings. You are going to have to pull the pan to install the oil return anyways. If the bearings are bad or are going bad you can easily tell. Then you can get it fixed before you completely nuke the motor.
