Ok now that I have white smoke I am getting a little worried. I was told to do another compression test with the car at operating temperature. When I did this one i came out 160,170,160,170. The only thing I am not sure about is how many times to let the starter turn over. When I do it for like 5 times I would get like a 170 number. If I do it like 10-15 times I would get like 185. Which is the correct way to do a compression test?? Well now when I get on the car white smoke is coming out of my exhaust(it used to be black and I havent changed my fuel set up) and only when I get on it and it happened once when i was at idle. It doesnt happen when I am normal driving. Also I notice now the car is not performing like it was before the other night.. Not driving awful or anything but a noticable performance loss.. I was thinking blown head gasket. But when I checked my radiator for bubbles there was nothing.. No oil in there either. Can I have a blown head gasket and not have those symptoms? I dont think it is likely I did any damage to block since the car is still running pretty good and none of my compression #'s are way lower. Also with the block guard, je pistons, and eagle rods i was thinking that would be strong enough.. I know I need to have some valves adjusted, I can hear them but would that be enough to make me lose noticable performance and lose the compression. I am getting them adjusted tommorow. My compression #'s should be at 180-190's. It was also mentioned to check my PCV valve, would this cause a loss in performance as well?? Please help me...

Not sure of your problem but as fa as your PCV valve goes I was told to make sure it wasn't bad because if it is clogged gases can't be recycled and circle back to the engine and can cause detonation..Don't qoute me on that though but you should check it out. It's right below yor intake manifold, once you take it out shake it and it should rattle and if it doesn't it means it's time to put a new one. Only like 5 bucks if I remember. Good luck man,

White smoke can also be a indacation of running a little to rich, along with black. What are you running for fuel pressures...

No. white smoke means coolant is getting into the combustion chamber.

my fuel pressure is 40-43.. i was thinking white smoke was coolant too and black was rich....

My car did the same thing whitish smoke at idle it ended up being a cloged PCV vavle. What oil do you use, I use Mobil 1 it might burn different. A PCV vavle is under $5 and takes about ten minutes to change.

PCV valve is on the middle of the valve cover nearest the intake manifold.

Mine has started to put out white smoke before when my fuel pressure has been turned up to high. I did not have a leaking head gasket. There has also been post on different forums reguarding this issue.
