building on a budget with a conservative goal of 160-170whp. Not looking for anything special, just want a fun daily driver.
my current motor is the d15b2 in my CRX, this is the motor that will be either boosted or swapped out for the b18c1 GSR.
which way would you go to reach a 160whp goal on a budget ?

b18c in my opinion, then when and if you want more power the motor will handle over 300 on stock internals

I love my B18C1, but the torque of a boosted D would make a more fun daily (that low of a hp goal means a small turbo capable of low RPM boost can be used), and should have no issues getting better mileage with a good tune...
I got spoiled by a 1.8 turbo that only made 170hp, but the 180 lbs-ft at 1,850 it made was awesome around town.
The usability of the powerband is much more important than the peak numbers for a street car.

TO me boost is better plus you can build the motor and turn up the boost later on. A little hard to just up the na power of a gsr

Drop in a b18c1 and youre all set . Remember its going to be EXTREMELY reliable . Boosted sohc will be quicker at first though .
