So if you bought a turbo and it was advertised as "Perfect shape" you open the box and it looks like this what would you think?
Notice how the fins look like a saw blade with some good sized gouges aswell as the big ding in the large fin on the the upper right
This is not just surface rust its crystalized and doesnt just come off.
im surpised the exhaust wheel still turns

same thing happened to me, bought a so called 60-1 from someone on here in florida, get the turbo and its a 60 trim that needs a full rebuild, new bearing housing, and shaft. and he told me it was a 5 bolt and it ended up being a 4 bolt.... he told me it had 700 miles and no shaft play. :bs: more like 7000000 miles. mine wasn't all fukd like that one though... i'd be PISSED cause yours looks to be a little more expensive than mine...

exact add description...
"Precision gt4067R Twin ballbearing 1.06ar. Perfect shape comes with a s -cover housing, portedshroud. Ran me numerous 10.1's and 10.0s. Made over 700whp with this. I stepped up to a bigger setup. retails for 2100.00 has 3/4 season no daily driving on it. Will let go for $XXXX.00!!"

the exhaust housing is perfectly fine, I wouldn't care about that. The compressor wheel is definitely not prefect so I would ask for some money back to put on a new one and have it balanced.

Yeah, it's really not that bad. The housings rust, nothing you can do about that. The small chip in the comp. wheel is not perfect, but it won't really affect anything. Sand blast the housing and it'll be good as new. Don't sweat it. Might not be exactly what you thought you were getting, but it could be worse, it could have never come. One of the things you deal with when buying used parts over the internet...

understandable but buying a part from a reputable person on here and this is the product i recieve is a little disappointing. I do feel i got a decent deal on the turbo, but with what its gonna take to get it back to the"perfect condition' as advertised puts it in the range of not so good of a deal. I called precision and they said around $200 for a new wheel but couldnt give me an exact price untill monday when whoever is back in the office.
What really concerns me even more is i have another part still in shipping from the same person that was advertised as having slight damage that was repaired and functioing properly now cant wait to see what all that means now that the perfect condition turbo looks like this.
I have sent a message to the seller and havent heard back yet (sure he just hasnt been on here) I just wanted to get some others thoughts before i went to far with this to make sure i wasnt over reacting. Im not here to bad mouth anyone or trash reputations(hence the reason i havent posted names) just looking for some advice....

just sucks when you get a part and it doesnt make you smile any idea how much to have the exhaust side coated? My current 60-1 is coated (which is FS by the way and it is in perfect condition ) but i didnt have it done so not sure how much it was

Re: (tony1)
the exhaust housing can be an easy fix through Tial. i believe they offer the s-trim exhaust housing for your 4067r.
id be pissed as all hell if i received that for a product. raise some hell.

Honestly I would doubt your ability to asses the condition of your 60-1. You didn't do so great on this one haha. sorry

Re: (philafelman)
At this point nothing needs to be disputed, nor would i ever inflict physical harm for something along these lines.... The seller is not important at this time as i only started this thread to get some opinions on the condition and my options. i have contacted him and we are discussing the turbo we'll see how it pans out.
