Default Ideas on thicker head gasket and block gaurd..

I tried to do a search but came up empty.

I think I blew the head gasket on my car. I am not sure that this is the only problem. It might be something even more I have not pulled the head as yet so not sure what it is. I am on vacation right now.

What are the opinions on using a thicker head gasket? Good idea or bad? Also if I want to install a block gaurd without taking the block out would that work? I have a JG block gaurd. Is it even worth it?

Let me know what some of you guys think about this..

Thanks

inline pro makes lower compression headgaskets for b series motors and h series motors. they can handle 20+ lbs of boost and 400 hsp to a stock block. call them at 703-644-1788. they're in virginia.

Im pretty sure if you got a thicker head gasket, you need to get cam gears to advance the timing as well, I used to have a cometic for my prelude 8:1 compression, but now i got rebuilt motor with a cometic turbo head gasket. Do any of you guys know whether the timing should be advanced with this head gasket? The thickness is like three oem head gaskets connected together like a slinky? thanks
