Default I want to save my built motor, but how

This just happen to me last week. After getting on it hard my oil light would flicker kind of fast. It seemed like a short for a little bit, but not sure. Then it came on with a solid on and off . I turned the car off as soon as possible. I dont hear no knocking and really no loss in power. Regular driving and idle no oil light but only after romping on it. Everything on my setup is brand new. My dipstick looks good and no stains on the ground. What are something I can look for??

Thanks Rod

UPDATE Feb 4. I bought a mechanical gauge hooked it. During the first start of the car the gauge was sitting at 75psi, then once warmed up it sat at about 30psi. After leaving the car running I came back and saw the gauge at about 5-10psi idling. oil was all in the nylon tubing but about half a foot in the tubing was no oil anymore. From what earl telling me that if it is the oil pump..it would just completely go out not just kind of work on an off. Also didnt see no metal shavings either. What could be going on? Seem like all this happen after I taken the car to 150

That light comes on because of low oil pressure. Maybe you need a baffled oil pan.

Rod, what does your oil pressure gauge do when the light flickers? I know it's probably a dumb question, but is the oil full? What weight? How old?

he said the dip stick looks fine so im guessing he meant oil level. BTW my ls-turbo did the SAME thing but only every once and while...it resulted in me killing the pump gear and have of the cover.

10w-30 same weight I used since you tuned the car, it is 2 days old, oil looks good on the dipstick. the light was flickering a little last week before the oil change(first time seeing it). The car still pulls but when I slow down that is when the light comes on. My gauge will sit at 0, but that gauge never been working right since I hooked it up(it will work when it wants to). For safety I hooked the stock oil pressure sending unit back up also.

hope my oil pump didnt break. I just bought that **** from the dealership

yes i would just replace the pump....dont mess with oil problems....its better to change a 80 dollar pump than a crank, a rod, and bearings due to a spun bearing cause the pump died.

That's why I think it's more important than a boost gauge
