Default i think i just melted a piston

me and my freind where racing tonight and once i hit nitrous the car just surged like crazy. and i wasnt pulling ahead as usual. i pull off and pull out the plugs and i see that the one head on one of the plugs are shot to ****. litterally there was no head. so i drove it home slowly and did the compression test, it read as 150-0-190-160. the second cylinder just wouldnt even move the needle. the thing is the car was running fine with the nitrous the whole night until just now

also i dunno what else couldve happened. earlier today the bottle only was pressurized to 500 psi max and i warmed it up to 800 psi when the motor blew.
the motor was a 95 b18b with an i/e/clutch and ran 13.7@101 jesus it was fun while it lasted

o yea f/s- zex nitrous kit w/ purge 400 takes it

i think imma do a SOHC vtec turbo junkyard style if i can get a sohc vtec swap in trade for the nitrous kit. **** if boostsohfast and happyman can run decent times like that i might as well.

You would be wise to do so...nitrous is expensive over time. And there is no reason you shouldn't be able to run low 13's high 12's with a stock SOHC, decent turbo..and of course...Traction!

ehhe well i have always been a b series guy but **** i did hit 13s with a 1400 setup(total cost of nitrous and b18b swap). but i will see what happens if anything i am gettin some isurance money back soon so instead of fixing my dent i might just buy a b20 instead tho :-/.......

b20 or sohc vtec turbo?????

actually too nitrous isnt that but i guess i just had some bad luck my freind ran on it for 2 years almost no problems at all on a 75 shot on a b16. not even any timing retard.

fix the bottom end, if its not too bad, add some CTR pistons...and slap a vtec head on it.. ls/vtec is a very nice setup.

Just pop the head off your motor and inspect, see what you damaged first. And regardless if you torched a piston or not, you already have a B18B. Just swap pistons and rods, hone the block and you're good to go.

I agree...you'll have lots of fun with sohc turbo. They actually put down a decent amount of torque to go with the whp. I made a 176 whp 173 wtq on a small IHI turbo @ 8 psi with just the hack and a 2.5" exhaust. It was good for 8.52 1/8 mile time with a 1.8 60 foot
