with the bumper off, i keep temps down to 195 whlie boosting, 188-190 cruising.


bumper on.....the highest it got was 216

i have a fal fan so im good there. never over heated but 216 is too high. i purposly drove it at 102 dg out.

its an air flow issue, what ideas do you guy have. i dont mind cutting in the bumper. i was thinking about cutting right above the IC. TIA

what kind of gauge do you have or is it datalogged? I'm looking for ideas to keep my turbo itr alive at the track. Probably I will cut the bumper also and build some type of duct.

yeah it's datalogged. yeah im thinking of some kind of duct. pretty much kinda like something that vettes have. im going to drive it with the bumper off until i figure out something

Uh, yes it does, all of that air that goes to that space will be directed into the half rad.

You can also try having a pusher and a puller fan, moving your intercooler back/rad forward so that they are touching each other, using water wetter, adding a switch to your fan so that you can turn it on all the time for hot days, using all water during the winter. I'm probably missing something, but if you have overheating issues after doing all this you've got other problems.

read up....it never overheated. i just dont like the temp. it only reached 216 for a very short time, went back down to 208 which i still dont like

the problem is airfow

take the bumper off....195. i tried to heat it up, wouldn't go, so air flow is the issue

You have a few options. The gay Super Duper JDM hood prop, a gay hood with a scoop and neither is guaranteed to work. Or make some sort of ducting around the radiator to catch optimal air flow. I will try and find this picture to show you exactly what I mean.

Put a piece of sheet metal next to the half rad, put a pusher fan on it, cut out your bumper bigger, prop your hood, take your hood off, vent your hood, put in water wetter, put in all water, don't take any of my advice at all because none of my suggestion will take 5* off of your coolant temps and get you into a "comfortable" range even though the temps you are seeing are extremely normal for a 102* day.

Any spacer will do. I did this to my s2k works well. Also remove the rubber seal in the rear cowl panel

whats the best tool for that. I have an air grinder but the wheels doesn't seem to like that material that much plastic that much

210-215 isn't TOO hot..

My dsm sees 210-215 all the time, when im in traffic and its idleing. Im considering cutting the bumper also, i don't like that high of temps, although again there not TOO hot.

My car just makes so much damn heat it seems, ive got a 10 and 12" slimfans both pullers, and a full rad and everything under the hood is coated/and or wrapped!

on the left side of the picture where the bumper support is. That is almost like a natural scoop.

Im going to cut a hole on both sides of my bumper right at the end of my bumper support. Kinda like a ram air set up.

Im going to use some type of flexible duct like a dryer vent type stuff. maneuver it through the bumper and behind the bumper support directly on the IC.

Im going to do the same for the other side and run a duct back in front of the radiator for uniformity and more air.....tell me what you think. Im at work and hopefully i can start on it tommorow
