Default i need to run n/a for awhile what can i do with the tapped oil pan?

i just got done doing a re-build (on my motor) and for the time being i cant run my turbo, but my oil pan is tapped......so i was thinking i could just get a piece of hose and a bolt and kinda "cap" off the pan........would that work or does anyone else have any ideas? can i even drive with that pan (for now)?

I second just putting a bolt into the oil pan and remove the line for now.

what kond of fitting do you have on the pan? mine is a male AN fitting so i would need some kind of AN cap to close it off. if you have something with standard threads then you could probably just put a bolt and washer in it, kinda like the drain plug.

Yeah, if you have a -10 male fitting on your pan you can use a -10 cap. They are like $1.25 a piece at my local hose supply place.

yeah a -10 cap should work nicely. if you dont have anywhere locally to get it (usually autopats stores dont stock stuff like this) than you can get it here.

part# 992910

for the turbo oil send line, i have a oil pressure gauge and want the oil send line straight to the "sender" unit when i remove the turbo. do they also sell fittings male to female, the male for the oil line and female same threading as the back of the block. do you the threading for the fast-turbo oil send line and threading for the back of the block?

im pretty sure stan uses a bspt -> npt adapter for the block and then a 1/8npt -> -3AN union to hook the feed line to. so both hose ends are -3AN on the feed line. that site has plenty of 1/8npt to -3an fittings, male, female whatever you need.

try part# 981603 for the -3an to 1/8npt (male threads)

do you have the gauge and feed line both running off of the back of the block right now?

i dont, i have a T on the back of the block with no adaptor for the stock oil sensor and an oil line that goes straight to the firewall where i have another T for the oil pressure sender and for the oil feed line to my turbo.

part# looks good to me. that way you can just connect the gauge sender directly to the feed line. are you going to remove the tee on the firewall and just run the line from the block straight to the sender?

btw, if you are going to order from that site i would try to buy as much stuff as possible because the shipping is kinda steep compared to the price of the fittings. but they are def one of the best sites for fittings and hose ends. i miss ordered from them once and needed just one more part that was like $1.50 and had to pay like $9 shipping. no big deal it just kinda sucks.

well i have 2 Tees, one from the back of the block for the stock oil sensor and an oil line to the firewall for my other T that has the oil pressure sender unit and another oil line for my turbo. im gunna keep the T on the back of the block to keep the stock oil sensor and just ditch the second T on the firewall. i want to keep that autometer oil pressure sender off the block, heard bad things about it. thanks again dpetro1

I picked up a -10AN cap from my local auto parts store, it was only a few bucks.

I also unplugged my oil feed line and inserted a threaded plug into where the feed line hooked into my oil distribution block.

I picked both those parts up from Baxter Auto Parts. They are only in the Northwest, I don't know where you live, but I'd think that most places would carry them, maybe I'm wrong though.
