Thanks yeah he should do so but no internet. I figured I can ask here and then look for the turbo in the for sale forum.

mkIII just stands for a generation of the car. this one referring to the 3rd generation of the toyota supra.

upgrade the stock turbo to a 60-1, a good clutch, fuel system and igniton..buddie had the setup, and ran on the afc on 26 psi..ran 12s all day on bfg drag radials. then decided to go 2jz with big turbo, and a th400 tranny..

Best bang for the buck upgrade (and simplest) would be to upgrade the stock CT-26... I've seen a handful of 57-trim and 60-trim upgrades push over 400WHP. My Camry was also running a 57-trim CT-26 before and it layed down 357WHP at 14 psi, and usually these turbos with the upgrade are good up to 20.
After that, it would be the usual larger injectors/pump/piggyback or standalone/turbo/manifold/clutch/etc...

cool thanks so any 60-1 would be fine? He's getting the motor rebuilt now with some good parts and wanted a bigger turbo but I forgot to ask what size and I only see him on the weekends so it would faster to ask here.

Not any 60-1 is fine. If he has the stock manifold, his options are an upgraded ct-26 rebuild, or getting an adapter plate welded on to run a t3 or t4 turbo. CT is a weird flange that is not adaptable to other turbos. So unless he wants to swap the manifold CT upgrade is the way to go. but i hear they are sketchy.
Also i would think about a metal headgasket and ARP's before anything. they are known for killing headgaskets.

a ct26 upgraded 60-1 would be fine if he plans on using it as a street driven car...but dont last long..
