I just found out that my turbo max's out at 20psi????
I have a DRAG III kit, and I spoke with turbonetics today and found out that my turbo max's out at 20psi. It's a T3/T4B I believe, but I had no idea it would be only 20psi. Is what Turbonetics saying a fact, or can there be more power beyond 20psi without damaging the turbo?
What numbers has anyone made with this kit?
What's the most has anyone boosted with it?

Do you know what trim it is? You can get an idea of when it'll be blowing hot air by looking at the compressor map.

Has anyone else ever tried booting more than 20psi without damaging the turbo?

I used to have a drag 3 kit on my car a while back. I think it was a super V trim w/ a stage 1 wheel or something like that, it's been a while. Terry (Boostfed) had just a drag 3 kit on a built b16 and pushed 369whp at 21psi but i think it will start running out of efficiency anywhere after that.

It won't damage the turbo, but you won't make any more power either. Without looking at the chart for your turbo, I have no idea what the efficiency range is but if 20 psi is too "inefficient" then increased charge temperatures will negate any corresponding increase in boost. IMO, you'll have to be *way* into inefficient territory before the turbo could suffer damage (i have no idea why it would given good oil/coolant supply). By that time, charge temps will be so high you're almost guaranteed detonation. 20psi + detonation = $.04 per pound of aluminum at the recycle center.

David mine maxed out at 17 psi due to the larger displacement. 20 psi is about right. st00pid maxed his out at 20 psi if I recall correctly. How is the tuning going?
