Default I have the dyno chart now....

I remember talking (and defending myself) about how my vtec gained over 100whp on my particular setup. You were saying that there was no way that was possible. If this sounds familiar to you, then this thread is directed to you. I just don't feel like searching through all the topics looking for your name haha. I posted up the dyno with the non-vtec and then the vtec pull. Once again, disregard the vtec jump because I was pressed for time and couldn't fully work out vtec to be a smooth transition.
Basically, non-vtec: 237.86whp
vtec: 351.18whp

I just can't wait for the girdle kit (from you ERL Performance) so I can rev to about 8500-9000rpm

Not stock at all and getting further from it by the week haha:
LS/Vtec
Drag III Kit (for now....but will be parting it out and replacing with Full Race stuff)
T3/T4 .57 @ 14 plus or minus 1 psi
GM 3 Bar MAP
GSR ported/polised head with all Skunk 2 valves, springs, turbo cams, etc.
8.8:1 81.5mm Wiseco Pistons
Eagle Rods
Thermal R&D 3" Exhaust
Edelbrock 65mm throttle body (I got screwed because I ordered the 70mm )
Bored .020, honed, redecked, etc.
Victor X Intake
RC 550's
Walboro 255
MSD Digital 6 Plus
MSD Blaster SS
MSD Cap
MSD 8.5mm Wires
Tuned by me at Colletti (obviously) with Hondata
Exedy Stage 2 Clutch
Exedy Chrome-moly Flywheel
I think that's it for the performance stuff? I probably left something out though, but you get the idea well enough.
All has been done since April, so I haven't had a chance to do a 1/4 mile yet *sniff sniff*, but the track opens here shortly so I'm excited haha

Soon to have:
ERL 5 Main Girdle kit, then I will rev it to about 8500-9000rpm
stock sleeves for about another 6 months (then it will be time for about 27-28psi )
Full Race manifold, 3" downpipe, and a different wastegate and BOV
I want another wastegate because my Deltagate is opening at 10psi (before I reach full boost )

My question is, why did you only rev up to 7.5K? Without upgrading the girdle, can you still rev to 8K or is that dangerous? Nice dyno, I hope to be there one day

I hear people going anywhere between 7000-9000. Alot say just go to 8500 and say screw it...but its my daily driver and I like reliability more than a big whp number. Personally I feel as though anything over 7500 is asking for trouble simply because the LS is not designed from the factory to rev to 8000 like the GSR. If it was, the gauges wouldn't have the redline at 7000. Therefore, that's why I believe that 7500 is the upper limit right now until I get the girdle.....then I will have my fun haha.

Do you have just a normal open differential or and LSD? If open, does the torque give you any problems?

Its the stock diff. The torque isn't too bad (1st is worthless, it revs out so fast and 2nd gear not too bad for now). If is at all wet or damp and I floor it, there's nothing but wheel spin. Even on dry roads, I can sometimes get the wheels to just spin in 2nd gear haha. Any more power such as when I rev to like 8500-9000, I think I will need to buy an LSD.... in which case I am going with the Quaife.

The head is what limits the RPM's as well as the stock rod bolts. You have replaced both so I do not think you will have any problems revving to your desired RPM. Haven't wathed the vid since I am on 56K right now but I will check it out tomorrow on my other connection.

It isn't a video that I posted...it just a dyno chart showing that indeed my vtec made over an extra 100whp (despite what some people thought)

I've seen that a few times, vtec making that kind of power. On the revving deal, that ls block is plenty safe to 8500rpms as is. I've done it a bunch! Like stated above, the head is what limits the ls motors from reving very high.

Looks like larger injectors are in order also. What eagles are those anyways? 3/8?

Also, a 70mm TB isn't going to help you b/c its WAY too big. 65mm TB is most likely helping you out. Large plenum=smaller TB, is a general rule of thumb.

hey 94whtgsr....I am guessing you are from around the Cincy/Dayton area then? If you see me on the highway then yea, I do like having my fun in 3rd and 4th gear haha. Just say hey next time you see me.

oh and tony, you shouldn't have said that because I want to rev it to 8500-9000 sooooo bad but I'm a scared litte bitch (without the girdle) since it's my daily driver haha

DefiantGSR....yea as soon as I start revving much higher with any more boost I'll probabaly by 1000cc's. As for the rods, I forget at the moment....but I'll have to check my invoice when I go back home next time.

Does anyone have the Deltagate problem (it opening at 10psi before you reach full boost)???? If so or not, any ideas how to fix it until I can get a new wategate?
