Default I have been Neptune'd!! And it is GOOD!!!!

After over a year of saving up money, researching and buying the parts that I thought would work for me, it is done. I also wanted to give a to

all the H-T sponsors, I have bought from evasivemotorsports.com, streetrays.com, Earl, camp1320.com, importparts.com and last but not least

Full-Race, all those places have very good service and prices. Now for the setup:

JDM B18C, LS crank, 81.25mm bore, stock sleeves, plugged oil squirters
Manley Turbo LS rods
CP 9.1 pistons
OEM Honda bearings
AEBS head studs torqued to 66ft-lbs
stock head gasket with copper spray
ITR 2001 spec cams
Portflow valve springs
Skunk2 Ti retainers
Skunk2 intake manifold
ITR throttle body
Walbro 255lph pump
RC750cc injectors
Areomotive FPR
Fluidmpr Harmonic Balancer
Action double diaphragm clutch
HKS MBC
Endyn breather system
Full-Race exhaust manifold, 3in down pipe, full 3in custom exhaust with Moroso resonator and Borla muffler
Garrett 60-1 .70a/r compressor, .63a/r turbine
Full-Race intercooler and piping
Tial 40mm waste gate
Blitz BOV

The car pulled 336WHP the first time on the dyno right off the street tune that James(HRTuning) did a few days before, when I saw the number I was

already happy with what we made. We had a problem with fluctuating boost pressure between 9.4 and 9.8psi which is why the graph looks so bumpy,

other than that it was smooth sailing. After about 4 more runs we ended up with 342WHP and 230WTQ, I didn't want to go over 8k since the motor

only had a 1000 miles on it. If we were to go to 8.5k we would make quite a bit more, but I didn't want the unnecessary risk. Coming from a NA GSR

and driving that car it is insane, brakes the tires loose just rolling on 3rd in vtec, 3rd gear pulls as hard as 1st pulled in the NA GSR. I'm very happy with

the out come, and I have to give credit where credit is due. James(HRTuning) did an awesome job, I'm really glad I didn't have to dish out the money for

a Hondata and then search out some one who I can trust to tune my car, all in all going with Neptune was just painless on me and my wallet.

Cool!

thats good power man.
I wonder how much stock sleeves can handle?

How much is neptune anyways?
i thought it was a higher end hondata style deal.. costing as much if not more.

Very nice. I’m planning on James tuning my car as well. Great numbers. Good to see more turbo cars in AZ.

i believe neptune is like $100 to purchase the rights to use the software + tuning costs of course.

Those are some awesome numbers 340whp on 9psi is pretty sweet. When do you see full boost?

Nice numbers man. Neptune is a great software, so I have heard from a kid that has it. Lots of features and over all good to use. I have a feeling there will be more of these stories to come.

Isn't 66ftlbs for the headstuds a little light?

Yeah AEBS says to torque headstuds on a b16 or b18 to 70ft/Lbs...

That's a nice smooth power curve!

Great power for only 9.6psi

Well done! I bet that car is a blast to drive!

Thanks Martin... I really enjoyed tuning your car... Everything went very smooth...

Congrats on building the block yourself and having it make more power than you expected...

Once you fix that boost fluctuation if you want to dyno again, let me know... I like nice smooth power curves and I think yours would be perfect if that problem gets fixed...

Nice job, glad your being a smart guy and having fun using your car and not ABUSING it too much yet...Like so many of us have.

66ft lbs seems like book specs on ARP headstuds with stock sleeves, if they wer aftermarket sleeves and step decked .002 then that would be a different story and would be able to crank it down much more.

From what I understand you have to be obd1 and socketed to use neptune right. Is there anything else that you need?

A NepTune tuner. That's all you need.

Yeah, I know its lower, I figured that the torque wrench has a -/=3% accuracy and if I shoot for 66ft'lbs I will either end up a little bellow the AEBS spec or a little above the stock spec. I just didn't want to warp the head by torquing it down too much.
