**** ignitors those stupid piece of **** god awful things. hondas should have been DIS.

i just spent 3 hours on the side of the road becuase all my friends were too drunk and/or too lazy to bring me an ignitor outta my garage and the tow truck guy who came to get me said "Ha you got a honda with an intercooler i aint towing your ***" and then drove away. All this becuase i was nice and gave a buddy my spare ignitor that i keep in my glove box yesterday. Its 3 AM time for bed.

do you guy in TX burn thru these things alot? I know they fail from heat but this is just ridiculous. 3 ignitors in 2 months. wondering if the msd has anything to do with it...

well i'm in texas i have had no problems with ignitors going out on myh turbo setup. i'm about to put my digital 6 plus on.. hope this wont cause problems

the MSD has been on for 4 years, its tought to mess up an MSD install... you really gotta try hard for that. i gotta see what the deal is somethigns weird, could jsut be relaly really bad luck.

yeha it was in NJ, i dont think NJ people are relaly known for their freindliness usually... oh well.

I was lucky, the ignitor in my CRX failed but it was in my garage when it happened.. One morning the car decided it didn't want to start...

There is a company that makes a universal electronic ignition thing. Comes w/ crank sensor/wheel, and coil packs good for 8 or 2 plug 4 cylinder. I think the mudule has adjustable boost retard as a built in function. If only I could remember what it was called.

when my A/C pulley broke off my car, and was just sitting in the engine bay, I needed to get the car towed. So I called AAA, and the guy came and told me that he has to charge me extra because I have a bodykit and low profile RIMS! I was like "What?!" First of all, I have OEM sideskirts and a Type R front lip, with my aftermarket rims that are the exact same size as stock integra rims. I was very pissed off that night.

i dont blame the tow truck driver for not picking it up and your probably better off the moron didnt. When i broke down,I called for a tow and asked for a flat bed.The loser shows up,thinks my car's all stock(i wasnt there at the time) cause intercooler is tuck in behind the stock bumper.He gets all lazy on me and decides to pick it up with the wheel lift instead of putting it on the bed needless to say when i got the car back,the lower intercooler pipe was crushed flat from the bar that wraps around the tires!

as soon as i got rid of my msd all my ignition troubles went away, went thru two
p-28's too.

btw why the **** wouldnt he tow you? thats bull man! like only a "stock" car can go on the lift?

thanks guys. i feel better now, my buddy gio came thru and hooked me up with a whole new distributor (after the "spare" i had, melted....) and i just finished this integra ive been working on for a while... life is suddenly good again. ahhh

I saw a broken down civic on the side of a main road one time. It was modified, of course. I drove past the first time and the guys were just standing around talking. I drove back a second time and the whole front bumper was off, and they were lifting it up. It was pretty funny.

3 ignitors in 2 months is just freakin crazy, i would definaly suspect the MSD.
All the ignitor is, is a simple relay. Its got 5 wires:
1]12v positive in
2]12v negative in
3]12v out to coil
4]5v trigger signal from ecu
5]tach signal out

They usually dont go bad unless they are pretty far up there in age.
