I had my 15 minutes of Fame today...
Well, it wasnt QUITE that long when they edited it...
but all this was in responce to a big accident locally last night as the result of street racing..
I was contacted by a local news station and they wanted to interview me to show the views of the car enthusiasts... totally out of the blue
Dont make fun, this was totally random and unprepared... and I might sound like an idiot...
some people taped it and its already on youtube..

haha I was totally nevous... but IT really helped the car scene around here...
Ive already had quite a few people contact me in this first day and asking how they could help the cause...
Including a local subaru rep for Subaru Canada.. He wants to have a meeting soon with some people that might get involved..
IT would be nice, but its a long ways away to get a track built locally...

thats pretty cool that they asked you for an interview. at least they didnt actually interview some ricer to make us look bad. i think you did just fine but i wish they would have let you fire up the car and do some pulls not everyday you see a top mount on the news.
seriously though that sucks that people died and i really hate that the media always has to us a f&f reference and make us all sound like ricers.

well typically IF they interview people, its always turned around and makes us look like idiots..... period..
this time they approached me and wanted to actually do a positive image... which was awesome..
I was worried it wouldnt turn out that good... we had like 1.5 hrs of footage... all kinds of stuff... i think they did an awesome job putting something together

I'm guessing they sent the big twins and her camera man with just a little bit of info, but didn't know what to videotape.
I'm glad they didn't turn it into some hysterical dramatic event making racers look like bad guys. Not that a death is ever trivial, but sometimes thats not the best way to raise awareness.
God knows I'd be ***-broke spending my money at the track (paying admission ) if there was one closer than 70 miles from me.

I never raced my 400+ WHP car on the streets, but I did go to test-n-tunes almost every week to get some races in. It's too cheap and easy to do it safely for me to screw around on the streets.

I usually don't reply on H-T but I just wanted to say you did a great job and thank those that filmed and aired that for for once trying to portray the import scene decently.
My only complaint is please don't give whomever posted that on youtube any more views.

yeah man you did very well in stating the fact that some idiot goes and does something wrong and the true enthusiasts get the bad rep for it.
I also like th way the media alway brings the damn fnf into every single stret racing report.

That youtube video title is hilarious. It looks like you were topped off on oil pretty well too, you checked it a few times. Good job on the interview.
