I wouldn't do it it mind you, but you have to give the guy credit for trying, not too mention that its got major cubic inch and a **** load of power.

If it came with the all wheel drive, I would see the benefit. If not...There are honda motors that can suffice (and would require less modification). First you'd have to build the motor then fab all the electrical and mechanical parts to put it in. Sounds like a headache. But....he is doing some thing different/creative...give that to him

I doubt that's the first time it's been done...MAYBE to an Si but I know I've seen the DSM motor put into Civics before...plenty retarded though.

Why not just buy the rest of the piece of **** body chassis to go with the motor?
AWD is cool, but I would rather anything other than a DSM. AWD Celica would be nice.

If they would have used a newer 4G63 from an EVO V/VI/VII I would be impressed. FWD turbo Lancers aren't any faster than Turbo Honda's. I will give props for being different though.

Since this is a honda board I'll take the last statement not as an insult. You should know that the strongest 4g63 powered cars were the 6 bolt motor found from '89 till mid '92 in the turbo dsm's. They had a bottom end that could support up to 600 hp, big rods, and heads that flowed like a *****. Not to mention they didn't fall victim to the much overhyped "crankwalk" like the latter 7 bolt motors found in the 2g cars. The blocks themselves were also made of a better quality metal in earlier cars, and didn't flex as much.

Re: I found this thread called," finally a honda done right" (Quick 200k Mile Motor)
different is nice. Its his car so he can do what ever he pleases, whether you think its retarded or not, its done. I wouldn't do it myself, but I am not going to slam the guy for doing what he pleases. I say good for him, and hope he is happy with his choice.

The EVO VII motor is much stronger than the older versions so do some more research!

I've seen this before, it's FAKE. The guy just lowered the car onto the enigine while it was still on the stand, you can even see the enigne stand through the grill. I would have thought that you guys at H-T would catch this pretty quickly.

Proove it. If it was stronger, then all the fast dsm guys wouldn't be running early 6 bolt blocks. Sorry but you're wrong. The evo 6 and 7 motors were very simillar to 2g dsm blocks, which are weaker. THe early blocks were massivly overbuilt, and as time went on they found ways to save money producing the cars. I've got a dsm, trust me I know ALL about this.....

The 6 bolts are definitely the way to go if you want to build a fast DSM. It's true that the heads flow really well...it's just overly built from the factory. Slap in the 8.5:1 pistons and you have a killer motor. And you can spin these motors up to 8.5k rpms with the appropriate mods....but getting the transmission to keep up is a different story.
Just because it's new doesn't mean it's the best. We've already learned that with the 7 bolts.

yep! The early 6bolt with the "big rods" are the strongest 4g63s that fit in our USDM eclipses.
