What's a "stage 5" 60 trim?

What internals? And what head work?

60 trim t04e won't support 500whp on pump gas and the hx35 is laggy. Your going to have to run a good sized turbo like 61lbs/min to support 500 on pump gas

Neither. You need to go with a bit more lbs/min on the compressor wheel, which will depend upon the fuel you want to use to get to that 500whp power level.

that's a 58.2mm inducer 74.73mm exducer using a much larger than usual 62mm exducer turbine wheel. The standard one comes in 52mm exducer wheel (stage III).

The turbine wheel may be able to make 500whp, but the compressor wheel will be hard pressed to keep up with the turbine, because it will be producing a lot of heated pressurized air. Its really a bad mismatch. this is why I say that neither turbo of the OP's choice would be best at all.

What about swapping a hx40 compressor on?

If you get an HX40 UNIT (not just some compressor wheel), you'll be able to hit 500whp with a bit less issue, (especially with a 9cm or 12cm turbine housing).

Don't try and put the HX40 compressor on the Garrett cartridge. won't fit correctly.

Like an HX 40/35. You sort of get the mixture of two worlds. Still laggy from the larger compressor wheel, and the turbine wheel can't keep up well with the larger compressor wheel. Overall you'd be CLOSER to the goal., but it wouldn't be very efficient and you'd need to still run a lot of boost pressure..

I don't think it worth it, either run the hx35 or hx40.
