Default how would you build your D series???

I am just courious, and this will probably turn into one huge internet arguement, but how would you build a D series (from head to oil-pan) for turbo -track use.

i would do something really similar to this...

Just make sure you can finish the project. I've been building that car for the last 10 months and it's still not complete.

But it WILL be complete and that is what matters.

I have been working on a much smaller project for the same amount of time.

Default Re: (D15B7turbo)

IF u had a 5th gen, i would build a D16z6 with a Y8 Tranny
If u had a 6th gen, I would build a D16y8 with a Y8 Tranny

that way if u ever get poped by cops, u might not get sent to smog ref, for having a stock engine + a fake greedy carb legel sticker, it's all good

Built I would go with
GE Sleave, RS Machine, Benson, or Dart or Camp Sleave if u want to save money
All of them are good ****, some have there ups and down, but all have great sleaves
Pistons, Cp, or Wisico or (Spelling?) those 2 are like the most used in D Series, alot use Wisisco (Spelling?)
Blance Crack
Bore and Hone to fit if u have to
For Rods, Puter is the ****, Manely is nice 2, if u ur poor like me Eagle 900HP Connecting Rods with the new ARP studs (fixed there old ones these ones are much better)
NEw OEM Honda Oil Pump u can also go aftermarket, but OEM Honda is good to 500whp on alot of cars
NEw OEM Honda Water Pumpu can also go aftermarket, but OEM Honda is good to 500whp on alot of cars
Honda OEM Headgasket, agian aftermarket with cooper spray some people like
Hondata Headgasket
For the Head

Intake Manifold
Ported and Polished Y8
Skunk2
Venom
Type R TB, Get it BORED 68mm at http://www.maxbore.com (the type r is a direct fit on a d series im runing a none bored one)
He is a HT User and Does Kickass work
There is so much **** out there
Skunk2, Omni Power, Ferrea Racing, Crowder, it's all good ****, don't buy the ebay ****, herd it sucks.
u just need
Valve
Springs
Retainers
A Cam, for SOHC, I have found alot of people saying good things about the zex cam, it makes good power and lets the car be very streetable, so people say it's loud, the JG cam is very loud from what i have read. I like streetable and power, so Zex is they have a stage 1 street and strip cam, it's price to move

Tranny, go with the Y8 it's the Type R of the D16 Would
The Shifts Forks are good and stronger then the Z6
Go with a Stage 3 or like a 4 to 6 puck
14 pound to 9 pounder flywheel is nice for boost
8 and lower is kinda hard to drive dayily
People who say get a stock haven't felt the different, it's alot better with a 12 pound, faster rev's more power faster.

MSD
MSD SCI
MSD Blaster Coil 2
NGK 2 step colder plugs

ur motor is done and able to take 400whp

Done, i wish i would of done, this, but im going a different route, I was so about to do this setep, looks sweet as **** to me

Simple.

Vitara Pistons+rings
Eagle rods
ACL bearings
ARP headstuds
3bar Map
550 cc injectors

Dseries sleeves are already strong as hell.

A good tune using a wideband (TE 2.0A for me )

And turn the boost up to 20psi Simple 300whp, not to mention cheap

I second that cause I'll be running the exact same setup in my car....except with dsm 450's.

What turbo/mani are you going to run??

T3 60trim turbo. Manifold is a custom design by RenoRacing (short manifold)

Ill also be switching to SCAT rods though. They're cheaper and just as good as Eagles.

Pistons and rods, and a lot of boost.

Then I'd buy another crx with the left over money
