Default how to upgrade my turbine housing from a .48 to a .63

as the title says, im looking to upgrade the exhaust housing on my turbo. it is a Garrett 57 trim. where can i find a turbine housing and will i need anything else besides the housing? while searching all i can find are GT series or not .63 AR housings.

i have an ebay china turbo sitting around as well with a .63ar. is it worth the time to pull apart and measure to see if it will fit? or are ebay housings just as unreliable as everything else?

thanks in advance

edit:
also i cant figure out what stage wheel i have. the measurements on my exhaust wheel are 56mm-exducer and 64mm-inducer

Sounds like a t31 wheel. So, get a t31 housing with the desired AR.

Performance Techniques or ATP turbo can get you a housing.

just realized that the compressor trim is 57 and the turbine trim is 76 trim. while trying to figure out what measurements i need, i read something saying that your exhaust trim is the same, unless they meant you find it out the same.

found this chart as well

so i do have a stage 3 wheel (was curious because a 2 is stamped on my turbine housing)

will this housing work? and does the price seem right?

If your measurements are right then it is a t31stage 3 wheel. Yes, what you picked is correct. I recommend you look around a little for a better price.

Where is TheShodan when we need him?

**I'll need to edit this later...and insert a turbo instead of a bat

I did PM the shodan a few days ago to properly figure out a few things on my turbo (how much HP it will make etc) but I figured out what I need, purchased a housing from Performance Technique for a good price this morning. Thanks for the help

If he doesn't see a sale he doesn't respond.

while i dont stalk the guy, i know there have been numerous threads of mine over the years that didnt involve anything he could sell me but he did respond and help.

now, that said, one of my friends was in this same scenario a while back and we couldnt find a housing for less than like 200 bucks. best answer i could come up with is to look for a blown turbo with the housing you need. not sure how much they are going for now

On occassion, you can find those housings in the Marketplace. I bought one last year to replace a .63 ar housing with a broken bolt...IIRC it was only $75. I still have the .63 ar turbine, but i doubt you would want to deal with the broken bolt and messed up threads (on the flange which connects to the downpipe). Its now relegated to being used for mock up
